MetaMask now integrates with Bitfinex Pay, a crypto payment gateway that opens up the possibility of tens to millions of users. MetaMask is a mobile app that can be downloaded for iOS and Android. However, it can also be used as an extension for Chrome Firefox, Brave, and Edge desktop browsers.
MetaMask is described as “your connection to new web” and was created to act as a wallet/ID for Ethereum-based blockchain-based online apps. It promises to provide a safer and more private browsing experience, as well as allow users to access crypto and NFTs.
This integration was officially launched on Friday and gave MetaMask users with more than 10,000,000 active users access to Bitfinex Pay. MetaMask users can send and receive cryptocurrency payments by logging in to their wallets.
Merchants who wish to accept Bitfinex Pay payments must first create an account with Bitfinex and verify their identity. Merchants are able to integrate the Bitfinex Pay widget onto their websites once they have been verified.
