Icon To Start Developing The SPERA Interchain NFT Gaming Platform In Partnership With 2bytes

  • On January 25th, ICONLOOP Inc., a prominent South Korean blockchain business, announced a strategic cooperation with the ICON Foundation and 2bytes Corp. to launch SPERA, a blockchain-based interchain NFT gaming platform and launched a teaser website displaying the new interface.
  • The SPER platform, which is expected to be entirely operational by the end of this year, is an interchain NFT gaming platform that links and interoperates NFTs generated on various blockchain networks and platforms.
  • The name SPERA is a combination of Space Opera and originates from the Latin term, to hope.

ICON is a smart contract and blockchain-compatible layer1 blockchain that was developed by the ICON Foundation in 2017. Its digital asset, ICX, is the ICON network’s digital asset. ICON BTP (Blockchain Transmission Protocol) is an inter-blockchain communication mechanism that allows data and NFT assets to be exchanged between blockchains, unlike many other bridging solutions. It is unrestricted by a blockchain’s consensus method, rather than depending on smart contracts to authenticate transactions between blockchains rather than node validators.

NFTs To Be Exclusive To Game

The significant majority of NFTs presently generated and circulated on several existing blockchain networks have little utility beyond proprietorship. Similarly, NFTs in play-to-earn games are now confined to being used exclusively inside the original game and platform. This new infrastructure would integrate numerous NFTs from numerous blockchain ecosystems and make them functional by enabling them to be utilized within games on the SPERA platform, including intentions to enable P2E (Play-to-Earn) capabilities simultaneously.

BTP is a trademarked technology created by the worldwide interchain ICON project, which links several blockchains to make them interoperable. The framework of BTP technology varies from that of usual centralized cross-chain solutions in that it is decentralized, resulting in high security and scalability.

ICONLOOP will build and assist the platform’s development as part of the newly revealed cooperation, based on its intellectual competence in establishing and launching numerous blockchain technologies in the past. Using its BTP technology, the ICON Foundation would assist in the creation of an interoperable blockchain environment.

ICONLOOP Inc., a prominent blockchain business that leads South Korea in developing blockchain platforms and services, was founded in May of 2016. ICONLOOP provides technology services to numerous public organizations, enterprises, and the worldwide interchain project ‘ICON’ based on independently developed blockchain technologies.

2Bytes

Meanwhile, 2bytes, a gaming services organization, would build up the blockchain service and manage the new platform’s business operations. Over 40 game developers use 2bytes’ localization, QA, and global consulting services, and the company also established its very own game development facility. The teaser website which is set to go live today has further information on the interchain NFT game platform SPERA.

2bytes is a gaming services company formed by game industry professionals with experience developing and supporting global mega-hit games on PC and mobile platforms. It specializes in game localization, quality assurance, live operations, and consultancy for the global game market. As of January 2022, the company’s global gaming services portfolio includes prominent game creators including Pearl Abyss and Kakao Games, as well as 40 additional game developers, and it has lately begun to focus on its own game production.
