Matt Damon’s Ad Brought Down By South Park

An advertisement by Crypto.com, featuring Good Will Hunting lead, Matt Damon, in South Park’s latest episode, was brought down by them. The ad was a matter of ridicule.

In its initial episode of 25th season titled “Pajama Day,” South Park creators took on citizens of US to spurn down to wear masks and again linked cryptocurrency investments with frauds. Personas in episode countered Matt’s appearance in a TV spot tagged “fortune favors the brave,” where Damon talked regarding Crypto.com, amidst virtual landscape of historical entities.

One of the characters in show said during episode that his dad listened to the actor, and lost all his funds,” where another character replied that, everyone did, but they were courageous doing so.

South Park is known by many for its criticism of US government’s reply to 2008’s global financial crisis (2nd largest financial crisis after Great Depression), brought into vogue by a meme “aaaand… it’s gone,” pointing towards folks who inflicted losses after depositing their funds in a bank.

South Park has since jocularly forecasted that digital assets are gonna be the only kind of payments acceptable in upcoming years, and NFTs have a potential to burn down the globe.

The Late Show In The Row Too

First launched in October 2021, several in mainstream media appear to stay away from making comments on Crypto.com’s advertisement until it broadcasted during NFL. CBS’s The Late Show host, Stephen Colbert, aimed at TV spot on same eve as South Park did, contrasting Matt Damon’s crypto endorsement to prediction of Punxsutawney Phil, a groundhog, who forecasted crypto winter would remain for 6 more weeks.

Colbert stated that, one cannot depend on a groundhog for counsel, regardless of how potent they are when they catapult you with Matt Damon.
