A Fresh Venture Fund

Crypto hedge fund, Pantera Capital, is eyeing for raising over $1 Billion, a new venture fund, as per an email dispersed on Tuesday.

Pantera Capital has supported crypto organizations as well as projects, ranging from likes of 1inch and Bakkt, one of the oldest functioning funds in virtual asset space, making investments in equity and crypto assets since 2013.

Initially, organization was strategizing to raise a $600 Million fund as per a report submitted in November. But it now has raised its target to $1 Billion.

According to the memo, latest fund will make investments in project tokens and organizations’ equities. But Pantera Capital is strategizing to provide a venture only class to investors seeking equity exposure only.

The memo stated, for investors preferring ventures, latest fund will provide a venture-only class. This class will be accessible to equity agreements done by Pantera Capital, and will not engage with tokens directly. It is basically “Pantera Venture Fund IV.”

Venture fund strategizes to take fresh investments for fund until beginning of second quarter of 2022.

Disclosure came after a sequence of latest cryptocurrency venture organization announcements. Katie Haun, a former partner in a16z, is piling up $900 Million for a new crypto venture organization.

Elsewhere, FTX said lately, $2 Billion were laid aside for fresh venture capital. Paradigm and Crypto, who supported trading behemoth Citadel Securities recently in a fundraiser, and piled up a massive amount of $2.5 Billion during 2021’s end.

Some Impressive Metrics

Pantera Capital, similar to many other hedge fund organizations, is performing good in 2022. As per the memo, 385.4% returns were gained from organization’s Liquidity Token Fund, and 294.6% from early stage token.

As per data from a research indicates, 214% returns were gained via crypto funds aggregately.

Bloomberg Galaxy Crypto Index posted 153.39% returns. TCAP, a digital asset leveraging oracles to trace whole market, gained 185% previous year.

Pantera Capital stated regarding its performance, making investments in latest protocols has assisted organization’s funds in outperforming benchmarks of industry, and a bitcoin buy and hold strategy.

Organization expects to outperform throughout the year as initial theses strengthening discretional investments in Pantera’s hedge funds are constantly developing.
