  • Community strength drives Shiba Inu‘s rally despite the 589T supply.

Shiba Inu (SHIB) price confirmed a bullish reversal this week after breaking out of a prolonged downtrend. According to data shared by Shib Spain, SHIB price surged above a descending trendline and crossed the $0.00001288 resistance level, supported by increased volume.

The breakout followed weeks of consolidation and marked a shift in market sentiment.

Technical projections indicated a potential upside to $0.000022, aligning with past resistance zones. The move came amid strong support from the Shiba Inu community and continued development of its expanding ecosystem.

Shiba Inu Price Surged Above $0.00001288

Shib Spain shared two technical charts showing SHIB’s breakout above a key descending trendline. The first chart captured a sharp green candlestick that marked a move out of the downtrend. Massive Supply Did Not Deter The Meme Coin Rally

Shiba Inu was launched in August 2022 as a meme coin with a massive initial supply of 1 quadrillion tokens. Half of this supply was sent to Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin, who burned a significant portion. Despite these efforts, the current circulating supply remained at 589 trillion SHIB.

Lucie, the Shiba Inu marketing lead, addressed concerns over this large supply in a recent post on X. She explained that SHIB’s strength came from its distributed ownership and community-driven model. According to her, the token’s value had not been hindered by its supply size, stating that thousands own a fraction of it.

More so, Lucie emphasized that SHIB ranked 15th in market capitalization, ahead of tokens like Hedera, Aave, and Toncoin, all of which had lower circulating supplies. This put SHIB among the most valuable tokens in terms of market cap, mainly due to community engagement.

Expanding Ecosystem Provided Functional Utility

Shiba Inu’s ecosystem has grown to include projects such as Shibarium, BONE, LEASH, and TREAT. Shibarium, a Layer-2 blockchain solution, aimed to reduce transaction costs and improve scalability. This development played a central role in giving the SHIB token real-world functionality.

The Shibarium rollout helped attract retail and institutional users alike, creating more use cases across decentralized finance (DeFi) and non-fungible token (NFT) spaces. SHIB’s increased utility supported its recent rally, with analysts pointing to ecosystem engagement as a driver for price stability.

The volumes in related tokens, such as BONE and LEASH, were also high during this period, indicating that investors were still optimistic about the future of the Shiba Inu ecosystem.

SHIB Leadership Prioritized Utility Over Burn Pressure

Notably, while burn programs facilitated by a community to increase token scarcity over the years, some traders in the SHIB community insisted on higher burn rates. Some analysts also claimed that the 589 trillion supply remained a drain on the price and demanded even more strings to constrict it.

Shytoshi Kusama, lead developer of Shiba Inu, responded by saying it’s theoretically possible to burn 99.9% (corrected from 999%) of the tokens. However, he clarified that burning is not the project’s core focus. Instead, he emphasized the importance of real-world value creation and ecosystem utility.

He noted that SHIB’s adoption in payment systems, DeFi apps, and broader Web3 initiatives would drive long-term value and investor confidence—aligning with Lucie’s position on community-powered growth.
