Affiliate Disclosure
Transparency matters to us. This Affiliate Disclosure explains how The Market Periodical (“TMP”) earns some of its revenue through affiliate links and partnerships, and — just as importantly — how those relationships are kept separate from our journalism.
What Affiliate Links Are
The Market Periodical may earn commissions when readers click certain links or sign up for products and services we mention — including cryptocurrency exchanges, brokers, wallets, software, courses, and other tools. These commissions come from the partner, not from you: using an affiliate link costs you nothing extra, and you never pay a higher price because you arrived through TMP.
This disclosure is provided in the spirit of consumer-protection guidance such as the U.S. Federal Trade Commission’s rules on endorsements, which call for clear and conspicuous disclosure of material connections.
How Affiliate Links Work
When you click an affiliate link, the partner typically records a referral — often through a tracking parameter or cookie — so that if you go on to open an account or make a purchase, we may receive a referral fee or revenue share. The amount, if any, varies by partner and by product, and it does not change what you pay.
Editorial Independence Comes First
The single most important point of this page: affiliate relationships do not influence our reporting, reviews, ratings, or rankings. We do not sell favourable coverage, and a partner cannot buy a higher rating, a better ranking, or the removal of criticism.
Our writers assess products on their merits using consistent, published criteria. To understand exactly how we evaluate what we cover, please read our Editorial Policy and our Reviews Methodology. Where a product we rate highly also happens to be an affiliate partner, that is because it earned the rating on its own — not the other way around. Our commitment to integrity is set out further in our Ethics statement.
Affiliate, Sponsored, and Editorial Content Are Different
It helps to understand the three categories of content on TMP:
- Editorial content is written independently by our journalists. No advertiser or partner controls it.
- Affiliate content is ordinary editorial content that happens to contain affiliate links. We choose what to write about and what to say; the link simply allows us to earn a referral fee if you act on it.
- Sponsored content is paid for by a third party and is always clearly labelled as such. It is governed by our Sponsored Content Policy and is a separate arrangement from affiliate links.
An affiliate link inside an article does not make that article “sponsored.” The two are distinct, and we treat them differently.
How We Identify Affiliate Links
We aim to make material connections clear. This may include a disclosure statement on or near relevant content, notices within articles that contain affiliate links, and standard link attributes where appropriate. If you are ever unsure whether a link is an affiliate link, you can assume that a link to a commercial exchange, broker, or product may be one, and you can contact us to ask.
How Commissions Support Independent Journalism
Producing fact-checked market news, live data, and free tools costs money. Affiliate commissions — alongside advertising and other revenue — help fund our newsroom and keep the vast majority of our content free to read, without paywalls. Choosing to use our affiliate links is an optional way to support that work at no cost to you.
Your Choices
Using our affiliate links is entirely voluntary. You are always free to visit any exchange, broker, or product directly rather than through a link on our site, and doing so will not change the price you pay or the content you can access. We encourage you to compare options, read the fine print, and — consistent with our Disclaimer — do your own research before signing up for any financial product.
