Bitcoin price is facing some volatility ahead of the much-anticipated Fed rate cuts this week, at the September 17 FOMC meeting. As BTC continues to flirt with $115K, altcoins face even stronger selling pressure. Despite this volatility, analysts hope for a BTC breakout and a potential full-blown altseason ahead.
The Bull and Bear Case Scenario for Bitcoin Price
Bitcoin price shows strong volatility, oscillating between $114,000 to $117,000 on Monday, September 15. Analysts are weighing both possible scenarios i.e. the bull and the bear case with BTC.
Crypto analyst Ted Pillows highlighted that Bitcoin faced resistance in the $117,000–$117,200 range. He noted that if BTC fails to reclaim this zone soon, the likelihood of a correction toward $113,500 or lower could increase. The next consecutive support levels for BTC are $107,400 and $101,000.

However, some market analysts continue to remain bullish while expecting further gains for BTC. Crypto analyst Rekt Capital noted that Bitcoin price has closed the weekly chart above $114,000. This brings the cryptocurrency one step closer to fully reclaiming its ReAccumulation Range.

According to the analyst, successfully holding $114,000 as support could not only enable further upside. This would also signal an end to the current corrective phase in BTC.
Bitcoin Price Bullish Momentum to Continue Amid Strong Capital Inflows
Data from Realized Cap shows that more capital has flowed into Bitcoin price over the past 18 months than in its first 15 years combined. Between 2009 and 2024, the cryptocurrency saw $435 billion in realized value, compared with $625 billion between 2024 and 2025.

Realized Cap measures the value of BTC based on the price at which coins last moved on-chain, providing a direct view of capital inflows. Analysts note that the data highlights Bitcoin’s ability to maintain its price and absorb record levels of real investment.
On the other hand, inflows into spot Bitcoin ETF have also surged over the past week. This highlights that institutional demand for BTC is rising once again. Between September 8 and September 12 (ET), U.S. Bitcoin spot exchange-traded funds (ETFs) recorded net inflows of $2.34 billion, with no outflows reported. This marked the third consecutive week of positive product inflows.
Expectations of Altseason Are Rising Again
The total altcoin market capitalization ($TOTAL) is attempting to break to new all-time highs, raising expectations of altseason. This signals a potential shift in momentum after lagging behind Bitcoin for much of the current cycle.

Analysts note that Ethereum’s recent strength has been leading the push higher, raising expectations for a broader altcoin rally. A confirmed breakout and close above the current resistance zone could place the market in a “price discovery” phase.
Historically, this suggests a period of sharp expansion. During the last major breakout, when the 2017 peak was surpassed in 2021, the altcoin market tripled in value. While such gains may not be realistic this time, analysts suggest the move could still drive significant trend continuation across the sector.
