Bitcoin (BTC) price bounced sharply this week, holding above key structural levels while altcoins lagged, according to traders and on-chain data. Analysts described the setup as favorable for a sustainable recovery rather than a short-lived squeeze.
BTC Dominance Leads While Altcoins Lag
Daan Crypto Trades said Bitcoin was “leading the way on this bounce,” noting that strength in Bitcoin Dominance (BTC.D) typically sets the stage for a more durable market recovery.

He explained that altcoins often lag when Bitcoin regains momentum. “This is generally what you want to see for a sustainable bounce or reversal which isn’t just a quick short squeeze,” he posted on Sept. 19.
His comments followed earlier observations that BTC.D was trending lower, though without major shifts. He maintained that the broader trajectory still pointed downward but emphasized that “nothing goes down in one straight line.”
For traders, Bitcoin establishing leadership at the start of a rebound often provides the structural foundation for altcoins to catch up later.
Structural Support at 135-Day SMA
On-chain platform Glassnode pointed to renewed structural support in the market. It highlighted that Bitcoin’s young supply valuations had reset, with the market value to realized value (MVRV) ratio returning close to 1.0.

This meant that newer investors were trading around their cost basis. According to Glassnode, the process reflected sustainable accumulation conditions, as speculative froth had cleared from short-term holders.
The firm added that Bitcoin’s price holding above the 135-day simple moving average (SMA) reinforced the support zone, with the reset potentially creating conditions for more stable growth.
This reset marked a notable phase in Bitcoin’s cycle, with fewer investors sitting on large unrealized profits, reducing pressure for near-term selling.
Divergence Hints at Hidden Momentum
Market analyst Cas Abbé observed what he described as a hidden bullish divergence forming on Bitcoin’s chart.

He warned that the price faced a critical resistance level near $115,000, suggesting a reclaim would confirm the breakout setup.
“A hidden bullish divergence is forming now,” Abbé posted, adding that a successful defense of current levels could signal momentum for higher moves.
The $115,000 area thus emerged as a key battleground for bulls. A reclaim above the zone would likely shift sentiment, while rejection could delay attempts at continuation.
Traders Eye Market Path After Reset
The combination of BTC.D strength, valuation resets, and technical divergences left traders cautiously optimistic.
Daan Crypto Trades emphasized that Bitcoin leading first was healthy. “When BTC finds its footing and shows strength, the rest of the market can follow afterwards,” he said.
Glassnode echoed that view, arguing that structural resets often provide longer-term accumulation opportunities rather than quick speculative bursts.
With resistance overhead and lagging altcoins, the market remained in a transition stage. For some, that provided a clear framework: Bitcoin must first consolidate gains, then allow alts to follow.
Macro Outlook Still in Focus
Beyond technical signals, the macro backdrop continued to influence market direction. Traders weighed Bitcoin’s resilience against ongoing debates on global risk appetite.
While short-term moves centered on resistance levels, broader investor sentiment tied back to U.S. monetary policy expectations and geopolitical risks. The bounce showed resilience, but the environment remained complex.
The interplay between ETF flows, institutional demand, and derivatives positioning will remain central to defining whether this bounce develops into a broader rally.
Conclusion
Bitcoin price regained momentum, holding key supports and sparking cautious optimism among traders and analysts. With BTC.D showing strength, Glassnode’s MVRV reset confirming healthier conditions, and Abbé flagging hidden bullish divergence, the market appeared better positioned for sustainability.
However, the test of $115,000 loomed large. Traders will watch closely to see if Bitcoin can reclaim the resistance, allowing altcoins to eventually follow its lead.
