Analysts are watching if Ethereum (ETH) price can retain support at the $3,700 mark amid shifting momentum. More so, they highlighted technical indicators and on-chain activities that could define the altcoin’s direction. Although there are short-term risks, high demand is notable due to the growing activity of the network.
Ethereum Price Defends $3,700 Amid Bulls Rebound
Analyst Ted showed that ETH is trading within the $3,700-$3,750 support, where it previously experienced significant buying pressure. Several retests of this zone indicate that there is new accumulation, but the development of lower highs suggests declining momentum. If buyers defend this zone, short-term recovery will be a rise towards $3,950-$4,000, recovering from the oversold conditions.

Additionally, the analyst pointed out the range of $4,000-$4,180 as a significant resistance cluster. This range has served in the past as both support and resistance, making it a final point of decision for short-term traders. A confirmed breakout above $4,180 could lead to the next line of resistance at $4,265.
However, the existing Ethereum price setup reflects caution, where bulls need a significant surge in volume to confirm any upward trend.
Moreover, failing to retain the $3,700 mark could subject Ethereum to further corrections to the $3,550-$3,480 range. The next significant demand zone is near $3,350, which is in line with a previous accumulation zone.
Record Stablecoin Activity Fuels Ethereum Liquidity
On the other hand, analyst Rand noted that the $2.2 trillion all-time-high transfer of stablecoins in October indicated a surge in liquidity, representing a 45% increase from September. The spike positions Ethereum as the DeFi leader and the primary settlement layer for stablecoin transactions.
This record activity reflects the crypto’s increasing utility, where capital flows return to its ecosystem. The analyst attributed this growth to institutional participation, decentralized exchange activity, and the application of cross-border stablecoins. Also, the gradual rise in on-chain transfers indicates that traders are planning to take up risks later or positioning for upcoming rallies.

Historically, spikes in stablecoin transfer volumes preceded significant Ethereum price swings. An increase in liquidity mostly translates into higher transaction demand and a rise in staking activity. If the trend persists, Ethereum could experience a prolonged network-driven growth, enhancing price stability. However, Rand warns that exchange-based liquidity moves could affect the accumulation or distribution of ETH in the short term.
Decision Point Near $3,732 to Define Market Direction
Analyst NekoZ suggested that Ethereum price at $3,732.11 is at the ‘decision-maker’ point. This level aligns with a long-term uptrend line and a consolidation zone, creating a significant inflection point. Retests of this level in the past have returned bullish momentum, suggesting that another successful defense could extend the broader uptrend.
A conclusive close above this zone could renew Ethereum’s bullish trend and initiate action towards the $4,957 resistance level that limited the last surge. However, if ETH price falls below $3,732, it remains at risk of breaching its trendline support since the beginning of 2024. This failure could spiral further into a retracement to the mid-$2,000 range, where past clusters of liquidity exist.

Most importantly, the analyst indicated that the next 72 hours will determine Ethereum price prediction outlook. The balanced risk-reward position suggests that traders should wait for confirmation before making a move. A confirmation of the bullish bias could rebuild confidence, while a breakdown could lead to a surge in downward pressure.
The top altcoin is trading near $3,720 at the time of writing, with traders keen on whether bulls will defend this vital support amid rising volatility.
