The current Bitcoin price action has left investors and traders confused. They are speculating about what the next directional move could be from $64,000. Market experts believe that $63,000 could be the deciding factor between a bottom and a breakdown.
Investors are closely watching the Bitcoin ETF. At the same time, they are waiting for a strong revival of institutional demand.
Bitcoin Price Prediction: What Happens Next?
As of now, the Bitcoin price is flirting with the $63,000 level. Analysts at 10x Research see it as a pivotal point for BTC’s next big move.
Bitcoin previously spent about six months trading in a narrow range around $60,000 ahead of the 2024 U.S. election. The same area also represented a top-building zone during the 2021 cycle, noted the analysts.
Bitcoin has now spent another six months consolidating around the $60,000 region. However, this time, there’s a major distribution of coins amid changing hands.
In the last 24 hours, the Bitcoin price has seen a minor 1% surge above $64,000. However, Bitcoin critic Peter Schiff believes that investors might be selling on this rise. He wrote:
“I’m not sure why Bitcoin didn’t sell off today, but the rally gives HODLers another opportunity to sell. Any ideas what’s propping it up? Remember, $65K is resistance. There isn’t much upside above that level, but plenty of downside below.”
Rising Exchange Reserve Can Put Pressure on Bitcoin Price
Analyst Crypto Patel reported that the Bitcoin exchange reserves surged past the 00-day SMA for the first time in two years. The shift suggests that more BTC is becoming liquid again. It also signals a move away from supply scarcity toward distribution.

If exchange reserves remain above the 200-day SMA while whale inflows increase, bearish pressure on Bitcoin could accelerate.
Moreover, blockchain analytics firm Santiment also reported that Bitcoin exchange balances have reached their highest level since June 15. It indicates the supply squeeze frequently cited alongside ETF inflows has largely unwound.
BTC held on exchanges fell from approximately 1.337 million on June 12 to 1.304 million on July 28, a decline of around 33,000 BTC, or 2.5%. However, the trend reversed after July 28, with exchange balances rising to approximately 1.332 million BTC by August 16.
That represents roughly 28,000 BTC returning to exchanges, undoing about 84% of the previous outflow.
Can BTC Price See A Drop Below $58,000?
Market expert and Bitcoin investor Ted Pillows stated that a BTC price drop under $58,000 is not impossible. Ted Pillows said the Bitcoin price bottom will depend on the $72,000–$74,000 range.
He said that if BTC reclaims this level, the chances of another drop below $60,000 would decrease significantly. If Bitcoin fails to reclaim the range, Pillows expects BTC to fall below $58,000.

Furthermore, in this week’s market pulse report, Glassnode noted that BTC price is holding $63,000 amid weak spot liquidity, ETF outflows, and realized losses. The firm said capital flows are beginning to stabilize, suggesting selling pressure may be easing. However, overall market conviction remains limited.
