Key Insights:
- Shiba Inu price consolidates within a multi-year symmetrical triangle pattern.
- Whale accumulation rises while short-term holders decline.
- On-chain metrics show reduced supply and growing long-term holding.
Shiba Inu (SHIB) has traded within a tight price range between approximately $0.000012 and $0.000013 over the past week. While intraday volatility persisted, the broader price direction showed a slight downward bias, punctuated by a dip on May 6 and a minor recovery the following day.
Despite this fluctuation, market attention has shifted toward long-term structural patterns and on-chain behavior that suggest a potential turning point.
Multi-Year Triangle Formation ShowsShiba Inu Price Compression
A key technical structure shaping market expectations is a multi-year symmetrical triangle observed on the weekly SHIB/USDT chart. This formation began in October 2021 following the asset’s all-time high of $0.00008. Since then, SHIB has formed a series of lower highs while maintaining a relatively flat support zone near $0.00001200.

Most recently, the price reached a local high of around $0.000045 in March 2024 but failed to breach resistance. The latest resistance test occurred in December 2024 at $0.000032. Each rejection has respected the descending trendline. Simultaneously, the horizontal support has held firm, with price repeatedly bouncing at that level.
The analyst has identified this compression as a precursor to a potential breakout. A speculative path marked on the chart targets an initial move beyond the 50-week simple moving average at $0.000017, followed by possible advances toward $0.00005 and $0.00010000 if bullish momentum builds.
Whale Accumulation and Reduced Speculation
IntoTheBlock’s on-chain analysis aligns with technical observations, especially regarding market participants’ behavior. The “Historical Concentration” chart reveals a 1.83% rise in whale holdings over the past 30 days.

This category consists of large holders typically seen as longer-term participants. Meanwhile, holdings by investors—wallets active for 1 to 12 months—declined 5.44%. There was also decline in addresses holding for less than a month by 0.66%.
This distribution shift suggests that while specific holding patterns remain speculative, the overall holding patterns are strategic. Traditionally, such moves are observed during accumulation phases within crypto markets, when short-term oriented investors were dump their positions while long-term ones were accumulating them. This behavior often contributes to market stability and reduces volatility.
Reduced Supply and Buying Pressure at Key Levels
Aside from whale engagement, IntoTheBlock’s “Addresses by Time Held” metric shows the percentage of addresses holding SHIB for more than a year rose by 1.46%. This growing long-term holder base reduces liquid supply and contributes to price stability. Such holders typically remain inactive during volatility, helping to anchor the market.
Still, the In/Out of the Money Around Price places SHIB’s current range at about $0.000013.

At this stage, 11.26 trillion SHIB tokens are owned by 16,250 addresses. In contrast, the supply zone of $0.000015 holds 12.11 billion SHIB spread across 18,320 addresses. This structure indicates the possibility of encountering resistance in the future, but demand at current levels is still well available for upward movement.
Based on TradingView’s chart projection, a potential breakout from the long-standing triangle could eventually lead to the $0.0001 level. The roadmap starts with breaching the SMA 50 near $0.000017, then challenging resistance at $0.00005.
