Key Insights:
- MicroStrategy’s Bitcoin holdings now exceed 600,000 BTC.
- Companies increasingly adopt Bitcoin treasury strategies globally.
- Bitcoin’s price surge boosts MicroStrategy’s treasury value in Q2.
The growing trend of Bitcoin treasury strategies has gained significant attention, with companies increasing their cryptocurrency holdings. Notably, Fundstrat’s Tom Lee recently highlighted the massive position held by Strategy, which now controls 600,000 BTC.
This large position has raised discussions about Bitcoin’s impact on corporate strategies and potential government involvement. Companies are increasingly integrating Bitcoin into their balance sheets, with entities like Remixpoint and H100 Group actively pursuing more BTC to bolster their treasury strategies.
MicroStrategy’s Massive Bitcoin Position and Its Impact
Tom Lee, managing partner at Fundstrat, has pointed to the growing significance of BTC holdings by companies such as Strategy. Strategy, led by Michael Saylor, holds an enormous amount of Bitcoin—over 600,000 BTC.

Lee explained that this size might provide the company with a “sovereign put,” suggesting that governments like the United States or Qatar could opt to purchase Bitcoin from treasury holders like MicroStrategy, rather than buying directly from the open market.
The ability to trade at a premium allows large-scale buyers to avoid pushing BTC price too high. This strategy mirrors how oil companies are valued based on their reserves rather than earnings, furthering the concept that Bitcoin holdings may be seen as a valuable asset akin to proven reserves.
Strategy Q2 2025 Results Highlight Bitcoin Holdings’ Growth
Strategy’s Bitcoin holdings have seen substantial growth in 2025. As of March 31, the company’s 528,185 BTC were valued at $43.5 billion, based on a Bitcoin price of $82,445 per BTC.
By the end of Q2 2025, the value surged to $64.4 billion as the price of BTC rose to $107,752 per BTC. This growth in market value resulted from both the appreciation of Bitcoin’s price and the company’s additional purchases during the quarter.

During Q2 2025, MicroStrategy added 69,140 BTC at an average price of $97,906 per coin. These newly purchased assets were valued at $6.8 billion by the end of June. The price appreciation of Bitcoin accounted for a significant portion of the increase, contributing $13.4 billion to the total value. This shift reflects the growing importance of Bitcoin in corporate treasury strategies and its potential to add substantial value to companies that hold large reserves.
Companies Increasing Bitcoin Holdings
Meanwhile, other companies are also moving to increase their BTC reserves. Remixpoint, a Japanese energy consulting firm, raised approximately $215 million in new financing, with plans to use the capital to purchase more Bitcoin. The company holds 1,051 BTC and aims to expand its holdings to 3,000 BTC.

Equally, a Swedish health technology company, H100 Group, obtained another $54 million to advance its Bitcoin treasury strategy. H100, which currently owns 248 BTC, intends to expand its share in the digital currency.
Tom Lee’s “sovereign put” thesis underscores a broader shift in Bitcoin’s role from speculative asset to strategic corporate reserve. With Strategy’s holdings exceeding 600,000 BTC and its Q2 balance sheet showing billions in unrealized gains, the crypto asset is clearly reshaping treasury management.
As firms like Remixpoint, H100 Group, and DigitalX accelerate accumulation, Bitcoin is gaining status as a hedge and long-term store of value. The institutional path now appears paved not just by ETFs, but by companies treating Bitcoin as digital reserves—a move that could draw future interest from sovereign players.
