Cardano has reached a new stage with Hydra now running on the mainnet, its largest application.
The move shows how Cardano plans to handle faster and cheaper transactions. Charles Hoskinson has set a goal for Midnight to become the biggest private contract system by 2026.
Midnight Network Adopts Cardano’s Hydra for Faster Performance
Cardano’s Hydra system is now live on the Midnight network. Midnight is currently the biggest application running on Cardano’s mainnet. With Hydra, it can now handle more transactions at a higher speed and lower cost.
This update indicates that Cardano is progressing toward its goal of achieving large-scale performance without compromising network speed. Hydra is built to improve how Cardano processes transactions. It lets the system complete many operations at once, making it faster and more efficient.
The Midnight team says this is a major step for developers building on Cardano. It lowers costs and avoids network congestion, making development smoother.

According to data shared by Stev from the Midnight Foundation, activity on the network has grown. New contract deployments increased by 44.6% in the third quarter.
The weekly average rose by 45.4%, and the busiest week recorded a 33.3% jump. This rise suggests that more developers are now testing and using Midnight after Hydra went live.

Charles Hoskinson, the Cardano founder and head of Input Output Global, reacted to the announcement on social media. He said Midnight must become the largest private smart contract platform in the world by the end of 2026.
His comment highlights Cardano’s focus on building privacy tools for real-world use.
Midnight’s Long-Term Vision and Expansion Plans
Midnight is designed to work as a partner chain to Cardano. Its goal is to offer privacy-based smart contracts that still connect with the wider Cardano system.
With Hydra now in use, the network can scale better and process tasks faster. This helps make it more useful for developers who need both speed and privacy.
The team behind Midnight said they want to show measurable growth instead of short-term hype. The rise in contract deployments shows that progress is already visible.
Analysts believe that as more projects adopt Midnight, it will draw in additional developers. They also say it could attract companies seeking secure and private blockchain solutions. If the plan works as intended, Midnight could become a key part of Cardano’s ecosystem.
It could also strengthen Cardano’s position on the broader blockchain market, where competition for speed and privacy is increasing. Hydra’s performance and Midnight’s privacy features together make Cardano stronger. This balance could appeal to both developers and businesses.
Cardano Price Sees New Hope After Market Drop
It is essential to add that market watchers believe that Cardano’s native token, ADA, may benefit from these recent updates. After a strong sell-off pushed the price down to $0.279, the coin quickly recovered above $0.63.
Traders say this level has held firm several times this year, showing steady interest from buyers. Market analyst MMB Trader believes ADA could rise to $1.07 if the market stays stable.
That would be a 60% increase from its current level. He added that chart patterns point to even higher levels, possibly reaching $1.6 per ADA or even $2 if demand continues.
Other analysts, including Javon Marks and Dan Gambardello, also think ADA could return to higher levels in this market cycle. They say the structure of the coin remains strong despite recent weakness.
Long-term holders seem confident that Cardano’s ongoing projects, like Hydra and Midnight, could lead to steady growth.
