Hyperliquid has moved to address governance issues following the suspicion of a wallet involved in insider trading after community scrutiny. Decentralized perpetual exchange ensured the close internal control measures, such as a prohibition on employees trading in HYPE derivatives.
Although the clarification was intended to revive confidence, on-chain data also revealed a huge accumulation of the token by the whales. These developments, combined, put Hyperliquid at the crossroads between governance reform, market confidence, and technical stabilization.
Hyperliquid Enforces Insider Trading Ban Amid Scrutiny
The latest crypto news reported that, under a zero-tolerance insider trading policy, Hyperliquid Labs publicly stated that employees are not allowed to trade in derivatives of $HYPE. The move was framed as an additional attempt to preserve market integrity and user confidence. Additionally, the exchange noted that there are internal compliance standards applicable to all team members.

A wallet, denoted as 0x7ae4, which had raised concerns among the community members, was also addressed in the announcement. Hyperliquid explained that the address was of an ex-employee who left the firm in the first quarter of 2024. Consequently, the project aimed at detaching the existing operations from the activities associated with that wallet.
From a reputational standpoint, the communication was seemingly aimed at damage control and transparency. On-chain visibility subjects wallet scrutiny to the DeFi derivatives space. In turn, the reaction of Hyperliquid was directed at convincing traders and liquidity providers that there will be no misconduct on the inside.
Whale Accumulation Signals Confidence Despite Governance Noise
Concurrently, information conveyed by Lookonchain portrayed significant whale holding of HYPE at the same time when the scrutiny was intense. As stated in the post, two huge wallets had placed a total of 5 million USDC in HyperLiquid to buy the token. This action implied conviction-based positioning as opposed to speculation in the short term.

One wallet, identified as 0xDAeF, allegedly possesses more than 214,000 HYPE worth about $5.44 million. Moreover, the address continues to hold over $5.5 million in the USDC, which means that it can continue the accumulation. Another wallet, 0x3300, had a similar pattern, holding more than $2.6 million in Hype currency and idle capital.
Market-wise, this behavior is indicative of possible future catalysts or improved liquidity conditions to come. Notably, this accumulation was made despite the circulation of governance issues in the public. As a result, the data suggested that larger participants remained confident in Hyperliquid’s long-term outlook.
HYPE Price Stabilizes as Selling Pressure Eases
According to analyst Crypto Winkle, the daily HYPE chart shows early signs of basing after a steep multi-week decline. Price has retraced from highs near the $55–$60 range and is now consolidating around the $23–$25 zone. This zone aligns with a historically significant demand.
Momentum indicators suggest that the acceleration towards the bearish side is decreasing. Recent candles are exhibiting smaller downside follow-through, and the oversold states seem to be declining. Also, the price is higher than an upward-sloping long-term trendline, which provides structural significance to the current consolidation.
The analyst further noted that the insider-related issues resolution has eliminated one of the sentiment overhangs. Moreover, the technical setup could become more relevant as the focus returns to the fundamentals of Hyperliquid and its future supply vote on December 24.
