Crypto market participants face a busy week after Bitcoin retreated toward $80,000. The Federal Reserve will announce its interest-rate decision on Oct. 28, while cryptocurrency-linked companies and major technology groups report earnings.
Bitcoin traded near $80,400 on Oct. 25, below its earlier October highs. Investors will assess whether economic data and company forecasts reinforce the recent risk-off mood or support a recovery.
Crypto Market Awaits October 28 Federal Reserve Decision
The crypto market will watch the Federal Open Market Committee’s decision on Wednesday at 2 p.m. Eastern. A news conference is scheduled 30 minutes later.
The Federal Reserve raised its benchmark rate by 25 basis points in September. That left the target range at 3.75%–4.00%, where investors largely expect it to remain this week.
September’s employment report showed only 29,000 new U.S. payroll jobs and 4.2% unemployment. However, inflation continued exceeding the central bank’s target.
Headline consumer prices increased 3.7% annually in September, while core inflation stood at 2.6%. The opposing signals complicate the crypto market outlook and the path of future rate decisions.
On Oct. 25, Polymarket pricing indicated roughly a 95%–96% chance of no October change. A separate December contract favored another 25-basis-point increase, but those prices are speculative and can shift.
A hawkish message could pressure speculative assets through expectations of tighter financing. A less restrictive outlook might support risk appetite, although neither outcome guarantees the crypto market’s direction.
AI Bubble Warnings
The crypto market will also react to the ongoing AI bubble warnings that have led to a surge in volatility. In a statement last week, billionaire Ken Griffin of Citadel Securities, warned that the industry was in a bubble. These fears, together with the rising AI Bubble Index, have led to a sharp decline in most companies in the AI industry.
The same has happened with crypto tokens. As the chart below shows, top AI tokens like Venice Token (VVV), Near Protocol (NEAR), Artificial Superintelligence (FET), and Akash Network have all plunged in the past few weeks.

Top Earnings Will Move the Crypto Market
The crypto market will also react to some notable earnings report from some of the biggest companies in the industry. Coinbase, the biggest exchange in the United States, will publish its numbers on Wednesday, providing more color about its business. These results will also shed light on its other businesses, including its prediction market and its tokenized stocks trading.
Robinhood, another top company in the industry, will publish its financial results. Its numbers will show whether its crypto business improved as top tokens rebounded. Also, these results will provide investors with more details about its Robinhood Chain business.
Other top crypto companies that will publish their earnings this week are SoFi, Galaxy Digital, Riot Platforms, and MARA Holdings.
At the same time, the crypto market will likely react to earnings of other companies, including in the Magnificent Seven. Four of these companies, including Amazon, Microsoft, Alphabet, and Apple will publish their numbers.
The other top crypto market news will come from companies like Metaplanet, Strategy, and Strive, which will announce their Bitcoin buying progress. All these companies have continued to buy these coins over the past few months. BitMine will also announce its Ethereum buying numbers as it nears its 5% target.
