Ripple News: $5M Pledge Expands UBRI Across Six Asia-Pacific Countries

Key Insights:

  • Ripple News: Company pledged $5M to expand UBRI in six APAC countries during 2025.
  • The total UBRI funding in Asia now exceeds $11M, supporting blockchain research in South Korea, Japan, Singapore, Taiwan, and Australia.
  • A triple bottom pattern signals a possible altcoin rally, with XRP price holding near key support.

Ripple News: XRP company has expanded its commitment to blockchain education in the Asia-Pacific region by pledging an additional $5 million through its University Blockchain Research Initiative (UBRI) for 2025. This funding strengthens partnerships with institutions in South Korea, Japan, and Singapore, while introducing new collaborations in Taiwan and Australia.

Ripple News: $5M to Expand UBRI Across Six APAC Countries

In recent Ripple news, the company announced that it will give an additional $5 million to institutions based in Asia-Pacific. It is for the University Blockchain Research Initiative (UBRI) in 2025.

In addition, such a decision builds stronger relationships in South Korea, Japan, and Singapore and begins new partnerships for learning in Taiwan and Australia. Funding is provided to help research blockchain, develop curriculum, and give students hands-on involvement with new trends in fintech and distributed ledgers.

Consequently, this strategic investment follows seven years of Ripple’s engagement in higher education through UBRI. The initiative, launched to strengthen the blockchain talent pipeline globally, now includes a growing number of institutions across Asia-Pacific. By focusing on student-led innovation and academic research, Ripple aims to build technical and regulatory frameworks for the adoption of blockchain in both private and public sectors.

Total UBRI Funding in Asia Surpasses $11M

As a result of this pledge, Ripple’s investment in Asia through UBRI has crossed the $11 million mark. This group does not exclude renewed grants given to Korea University and Kyoto University, as they are concentrating on areas including blockchain sharding, zero-knowledge proofs, and safe transaction techniques.

Professors at Korea University are currently researching NFT privacy and blockchain scaling through ZK-SNARKs, while Hanyang University is contributing to zk-SNARK efficiency improvements.

Further on the Ripple news, the company has donated funds to NTU and NUS in Singapore to improve projects involving decentralized finance and blockchain agents powered by AI. NUS achieved this by launching Asia’s first university DAO and trebling the number of undergraduates in the FinTech Society’s blockchain program in 2021. Due to these efforts, NUS is now recognized as one of the best in the world for studying and researching blockchain.

Ripple News: Taiwan’s NKUST Joins UBRI to Study XRPL Tokenization

Ripple News highlighted the addition of Taiwan’s National Kaohsiung University of Science and Technology (NKUST) as its 60th global UBRI partner and 13th in Asia-Pacific. With a six-figure grant, NKUST began work on real-world asset tokenization across XRPL, Ethereum, and Solana.

Furthermore, NKUST will launch a student-run XRPL Builders Club and rely on its validator to encourage participation in blockchain by more people in Taiwan. It is in line with Taiwan’s current push to blend blockchain technology with conventional finance, assisted by the FSC and prominent companies.

Ripple’s support will go towards publishing a white paper and running a research fellowship about making asset-backed tokens easy to adopt.

Altcoin Market Outlook and XRP Price Action

Amid the Ripple news, recent technical analysis shared by analyst Dimwar pointed to a bullish formation in the altcoin market, identified as a triple bottom pattern. According to chart data, the total altcoin market cap has tested support levels three times and is now positioned for a potential upward trend. This pattern is traditionally viewed as a trend reversal, suggesting possible market strength in the coming months.

Additionally, analyst Ted Pillows increased the positive sentiment by pointing out that the altcoin season is almost certain. This hints that dollars are being withdrawn from Bitcoin and shifted to other currencies.

XRP, Ripple’s native token, is likely to remain a focal point during this cycle, especially as institutions deepen their involvement with the XRP Ledger through UBRI partnerships. At the time of writing, XRP traded at $2.29, up 1% in 24 hours.

Notably, XRP price rebounded from $2.25 support, peaking near $2.32 before pulling back. Momentum remains positive as volume rose 2.20%, suggesting steady buyer activity around short-term support.
