The XRP Ledger (XRPL) is set to activate its Credentials amendment on September 4, 2025.

XRPL Credentials Amendment Goes Live
In a major development, XRP Ledger will activate the long-awaited Credentials amendment in the early hours of September 4, 2025.
The update went live at 3:51 a.m. UTC after receiving 28 of 35 validator votes, which was more than the required majority.
This amendment introduced new tools that allowed compliance checks, such as Know Your Customer (KYC) and Anti-Money Laundering (AML), to be handled directly on the ledger.

These credentials could be applied to users or institutions and attached to their decentralized identity.
The update added three main transaction types. CredentialCreate allowed a credential to be issued, CredentialAccept confirmed one that was received, and CredentialDelete removed one from the ledger.
The amendment also adjusted some existing transaction types, added new fields, created a new kind of ledger entry, and allowed credential entries to be looked up.
The new feature aimed to build a stronger compliance layer into the XRP Ledger without relying on outside systems.
A few days ago, three smaller amendments were also activated: fixAMMv1_3, fixEnforceNFTokenTrustlineV2, and fixPayChanCancelAfter.
These changes reflected the steady pace of upgrades on the network.
RLUSD Stablecoin Back Among Top 100 Coins
Ripple’s RLUSD stablecoin returned to the top 100 cryptocurrencies by market capitalization.
At the time of writing, RLUSD traded at $0.9998, close to its one-dollar peg.
The return came as Ripple’s ecosystem attracted attention from both retail and institutional investors.
Nasdaq-listed VivoPower announced a partnership with Doppler Finance to launch a $30 million initiative focused on XRP yield programs for institutions.
The companies said the project could expand the capital up to $200 million in the future.
The returns from these programs would be reinvested into reserves, aiming to create a cycle of growth.
Executives also noted the strong role of the South Korean XRP community, which was reported to hold about 20% of the circulating supply.
They said the initiative was designed to meet institutional demand and could later extend to include RLUSD in its programs.
This agreement showed how Ripple’s network continued to be used for new financial products, including stablecoins, payments, and tokenization.
In recent months, it also marked one of the larger institutional steps tied directly to XRP.
XRP Price Trades Near $3
XRP’s price was back in focus as it traded around the $2.87 level. The coin rose 1.61% in the past 24 hours after falling for six straight days.
On September 1, XRP price fell to $2.69 before recovering and reaching an intraday high of $2.88.
It is important to mention that on a yearly basis, XRP gained 400% according to CoinGecko data.
By comparison, Bitcoin rose 88% and Ethereum increased 73% in the same period. XRP’s strong rally placed it among the best-performing major coins over the past year.
Traders pointed to resistance levels at $3.09, $3.38, and $3.66. Support is pegged near $2.48, which aligned with the daily SMA 200.
Analysts said that a close above $3.077 could raise the chance of XRP price testing the $3.40 level.
Some projections noted that clearing these hurdles might allow the coin to move toward $4. However, market experts believe that the outcome would depend on broader market conditions.
Similarly, market watchers continued to monitor the combined effects of the Credentials amendment.
In addition, they are monitoring the adoption of RLUSD in the stablecoin market and institutional initiatives on XRP’s performance.
Notably, these developments placed Ripple’s ecosystem in the spotlight as September trading unfolded.
