Grayscale Files Bitcoin Cash ETF as BlackRock Eyes UK Launch

Grayscale is seeking the SEC’s approval for Bitcoin Cash (BCH), Hedera (HBAR), and Litecoin (LTC) etfs. The company filed an S-1 statement for Hedera and submitted S-3 filings for Bitcoin Cash and Litecoin ETFs.

The digital asset investment firm seems focused on expanding into altcoin ETFs. It already offers several regulated products to help investors access the crypto economy.

As Grayscale pursues altcoin ETFs, its competitor, BlackRock, is all prepared to launch their Bitcoin ETF in the UK. The launch will take place in the next month, introducing the multinational investment company’s BTC ETF to UK retail investors.

Grayscale Seeks SEC Approval for Bitcoin Cash, Hedera, and Litecoin ETFs

Grayscale today manages tens of billions in crypto assets. Its Grayscale Bitcoin Trust (GBTC) remains the largest Bitcoin ETF with over $19.8 billion in Total Assets Under Management (AUM).

The crypto-focused asset manager now seems focused on repeating its earlier success of turning Bitcoin and Ethereum trusts into ETFs. It followed similar tactics in 2024, which might work again to get the SEC’s NOD for the filed altcoin ETFs.

Grayscale has submitted the Form S-3 registration statement to turn its existing Bitcoin Cash Trust into an exchange-traded fund (ETF). It followed the same approach to convert its Grayscale Litecoin Trust (LTCN) into an ETF.

The largest BTC ETF issuer also submitted a Form S-1 for a new Hedera ETF. If it gets the SEC’s approval, it will list on NYSE Arca. The SEC has delayed the review process for the Hedera ETF. The application will remain under review until November 12, 2025.

BlackRock is Set to Launch Its Bitcoin ETF in the UK

BlackRock, one of Grayscale’s top rivals, is going to launch its Bitcoin ETF in the UK next month. The world’s leading asset manager launched its iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT) in January 2024. It quickly claimed the largest Bitcoin ETF position.

Now, the company is preparing to introduce its BTC ETF to the UK’s retail investors. Several sources claim that BlackRock is trying to list its iShares Bitcoin exchange-traded products on the London Stock Exchange.

The world’s largest asset manager is moving after the Financial Conduct Authority permitted investors to buy cryptocurrency ETNs. UK-based retail investors can buy these products from October 8, already accessible in other European markets.

Grayscale and BlackRock are Chasing Big Milestones in the Coming Months!

While Grayscale is making attempts to expand beyond Bitcoin and Ethereum, BlackRock is prepared to introduce its Bitcoin ETP to the UK’s retail investors.

One asset manager is pushing for breadth and the other for depth. One is trying to broaden the asset class, and the other focuses on strengthening its legitimacy.

The approval of Bitcoin Cash, Litecoin, and Hedera ETFs will offer investors regulated, tradable exposure to these crypto assets. On the other hand, the UK’s retail investors, along with professional investors, will get access to the iShares Bitcoin ETP.

These major milestones will turn crypto from fringe innovation to a standardized investment category, such as bonds, stocks, and commodities.
