Ethereum Sepolia Testnet Upgraded to Fusaka: Details

The latest Ethereum news outlook shows that the Sepolia testnet has completed the Fusaka upgrade.

Notably, this marked a major step toward a mainnet release expected in early December.

Around the same time, Bhutan announced that it is moving its national ID system to Ethereum, demonstrating the network’s broader use beyond finance.

Ethereum News: Sepolia Testnet Completes Fusaka Upgrade

It is worth mentioning that Ethereum has finished the Fusaka upgrade on its Sepolia testnet.

This update is part of Ethereum’s regular improvements to make the network faster and more secure.

Developers say the next step will be the Hoodi testnet. If that goes well, the Fusaka upgrade will be deployed to the Ethereum mainnet in December.

According to the update, the Ethereum Foundation said the upgrade went smoothly on Sepolia.

The testnet is used to identify and resolve issues before changes are deployed live on the main network.

The upgrade is expected to enhance transaction processing and facilitate the deployment of future updates.

According to Ethereum news, the Fusaka upgrade is being closely watched by developers and the broader cryptocurrency community.

The Hoodi testnet will be the final test before the main launch. If no issues arise, the mainnet upgrade will occur before the end of the year.

This marks another step in Ethereum’s plan to stay ahead as one of the most used blockchain networks.

It is essential to note that Testnet upgrades, such as Fusaka, enable developers to ensure that real transactions remain secure when the new system goes live.

Bhutan Uses Ethereum for National Digital ID

In separate Ethereum news, Bhutan has begun moving its national ID system to the Proof-of-Stake network.

The project will allow the country’s 800,000 citizens to store and verify their identities through a secure digital platform.

The goal is to help residents easily access government services while keeping their personal information private.

Ethereum Foundation President Aya Miyaguchi stated that the integration marks a first for a nation utilizing Ethereum for a national identity system.

The system was previously built on the Polygon and Hyperledger Indy platforms.

The shift to Ethereum was made to leverage its enhanced security and reliability. The country plans to complete the full migration by early 2026.

Other reports from the Ethereum news noted that Bhutan’s National Digital Identity and GovTech teams handled most of the technical work.

The system utilizes blockchain features to safeguard citizens’ data and facilitate faster, more transparent identity checks.

Meanwhile, Bhutan has also been active in cryptocurrency mining. It is now one of the top five countries holding Bitcoin.

They utilize renewable energy from their hydropower plants to support mining operations.

ETH Price Remains Flat After Updates

It is worth noting that despite the positive developments, Ethereum’s price has not moved much.

ETH is trading near $3,956.97, down approximately 5% over the past day. Its market value stands at approximately $477.6 billion, with a daily trading volume of $57.4 billion.

Market participants note that the price has been stuck between two key technical levels, with the $4,300 mark serving as resistance.

The 50-day and 200-day moving averages are also close, creating a range that ETH has yet to break out of.

Market analysts suggest that the Fusaka upgrade and Bhutan’s digital ID project show Ethereum’s growing influence.

They might not have an immediate effect on the price. Investors are waiting for stronger signals from global markets before taking new positions.

Still, these updates reinforce Ethereum’s position as a major blockchain for both developers and governments.

The success of the Fusaka upgrade and Bhutan’s move to the network show that Ethereum’s use continues to expand beyond crypto trading.
