Ethereum (ETH) Goes Bearish After Interest Rate Hikes

Despite a relatively mixed performance in July, Ethereum (ETH) has dropped sharply in the first few days of August.

Ethereum (ETH) had risen to $2,000 on July 14, but it quickly dropped by 4.5% to $1,909 on July 20. Ethereum (ETH) then dropped by a further 4.3% to $1,826 on August 1. It recovered by 0.76% to $1,840 on August 4 before dropping by 1.4% to $1,813 on August 7. As of August 9, Ethereum (ETH) has risen by 2.5% to $1,859.

Ethereum’s (ETH) sharp drop in the final weeks of July might have been propelled by the interest rate hike announced on July 26. Some investors expected trading activity for many tokens to drop following the announcement.

Yet, bulls say Ethereum (ETH) will rise by 4.8% to $1,950 when the DeFi sector becomes bullish at the end of the year. Others say Ethereum (ETH) will drop by 2.6% to $1,809 due to its falling network activity.

Tron’s (TRX) Drop Continues As Network Activity Falls.

Tron (TRX) has been on a sharp decline since late July, and that drop has continued into August.

TRX was trading at $0.082 on July 21. Tron (TRX) then jumped by 10.9% to $0.091 on July 22. However, it fell by 8.7% to $0.083 on July 24. Tron (TRX) remained in that range before dropping by 7.2% to $0.077 on August 8. As of August 9, Tron (TRX) is trading at $0.076.

Tron’s (TRX) drop coincided with its falling network activity. Its daily active addresses and daily transactions also declined considerably in July.

Some investors expect Tron (TRX) to fall by 14.4% to $0.065 due to its falling network activity. Others say Tron (TRX) will rise by 23.6% to $0.094 once the crypto market becomes fully bullish again.
