- AAVE leads among top 5 DeFi tokens by TVL.
- Market indicators and TVL growth are pointing to a bullish outlook.
Aave (AAVE) crypto has been creating a lot of buzz in the decentralized finance (DeFi) space and is showing dominance.
AAVE is one of the few protocols that have achieved significant growth in total value locked (TVL). It has a TVL higher than its competitors, staying at around $20.04 Billion over the past month.

The chart shows the “Top 5 Value Locked in DeFi platforms,” distinctly highlighting AAVE’s dominant position within the decentralized finance sector. This could also indicate a high level of trust and adoption among users.
This dominance suggests AAVE crypto is one of the relatively safer players amid volatility.
But what is driving the boom in DeFi activity on the blockchain?
On-Chain Metrics Outlook
Despite the ongoing consolidation around the $300 mark, AAVE’s exchange reserves have significantly dropped, according to data from CryptoQuant.

Notably, exchange reserves could see a comeback and may fuel price upsurge. Typically, a decline in exchange reserves often precedes the price rally.
At press time, AAVE price was trading at $296.78, noting a rise of over 5.30% in the past 24 hours. Its market cap rose to $4.5 Billion, ranked 31st among the overall crypto market.
A look at the AAVE’s Global In/Out of the Money indicator conveys that, a major resistance in the path of a rebound is the $310 level, where 4.3 million AAVE tokens were bought.

AAVE crypto might struggle while turning this barrier into support zones. However, a strong support also exists around $230. Notably, 64% of the in-the-money holders were profitable at current price levels, whereas 36% of the holders were facing losses.
AAVE Crypto Technical Analysis: What Does Price Action Say?
Per the daily timeframe analysis, AAVE crypto has taken support at its 50 day EMA mark and rose over 5% intraday.
For the last seven days, it has been forming lower highs and lower lows and has breached the $300 round mark, which raises a concern — whether the trend has flipped or not.
Amidst the broader market decline this week, AAVE price sinked only by 6%, yet remained strong compared to peers.
However, crypto analysts are still maintaining a positive outlook.

A recent tweet by Cheds Trading adds weight to the bullish thesis. Per the analysis, AAVE crypto took support around the $260-$270 zone and defended the zone decisively. Recently, a bounce was observed and it highlights relative strength. If the bullish sentiment recoups, AAVE crypto could trigger a massive blast.
Alongside the price surge, the Open Interest (OI) has risen over 10.98% in the last 24 hours, marking long buildup activity.
The OI-weighted funding rate remained positive at 0.0086% and the long/short ratio stood at 0.99, conveying a higher demand for the long contracts.
