Key Insights:
- TRON’s daily active users spiked sharply on June 5.
- Retention rates decline below 5% by the twelfth month.
- TRX price remains stable despite user engagement fluctuations.
TRON (TRX) has also seen a massive change in the level of daily user activity. The data showed positive and healthy increases and prolonged long-term retention problems.
With a meeting of on-chain metrics and market dynamics, the platform is at a critical point. An increase in activity accompanies a decrease in user stickiness.
TRON Surge in Daily Active Users Signals Uptick in Engagement
Artemis on-chain telemetry shows an anomalous spike in the number of active users per day (DAU) on the Tron network. This has been the case this month.
The latest spike happened specifically on and around June 5th. This one-day increase took total DAU numbers above 4.5 million. It almost doubled the number recorded across the previous two months.
The graph displays new users in purple and returning users in yellow. There is a noticeable peak in user activity. This spike is driven more by an influx of new users than by increased engagement from existing ones.
The total value locked (TVL) of TRON has been underperforming this month. Despite that, it maintained between 1.8 million and 2.2 million daily active users over the past three months. This is evidence of its turnover.
Nevertheless, this early June rally was a temporary phenomenon that makes one wonder what triggered this brief rally. Whether it was a promotional bull run, token incentives, or ecosystem releases remains unknown.

Though the cohort retention trend is increasing with time, the trend is quite steep with the decline. The Average Monthly Cohort Retention Rate drops from over 20% in the first month.
By Month 6, retention falls below 5%, indicating a steady decline in user engagement. This showcases improvements between Month 6 and Month 12.

Such a tendency represents a shared yet problematic feature of blockchain environments. They are doing fine during onboarding. However, the systems that provide long-term user engagement and loyalty are underdeveloped.
The steep downward slope means that most users abandon the platform at early stages. This could be because of the insufficient perceived utility or the absence of rewarding incentives. It could also be because of the friction in interacting with dApps.
TRON Prices Remain Stagnant
At least in terms of price, the token has been up to the task amidst underlying user-retention issues. According to CoinMarketCap, the TRX price was trading at 0.2728. The token faced a slight loss of 0.17% on a trading day.
The volume in the last 24 hours has increased by 1.63% to 481.3 million dollars. Also, the liquidity and overall interest in the market are healthy.
TRON has a current market capitalization and a fully diluted valuation of 25.85 billion and 25.86 billion dollars. This accounts for little inflation risk of its tokens in the near future.

TRX price chart on the intraday scale shows a decrease to the value of 0.270 and an increase to 0.274. This can be interpreted as a test of support and accumulation of speculators.
A spot domestic resistance level was briefly reached at $0.2731. This triggered profit-taking, which caused the price to pull back shortly after.
This is in tandem with the outlook of traders who believe that the bullish breakout is possible. However, it is subject to conditions of sustenance of the prices at this level above the main support areas.
The recent TRON price action suggests consolidating between $0.275 resistance and $0.270 support. This range indicates a temporary balance between buying and selling pressure.
If bulls hold the $0.270 level, an upward move could follow. TRX price might test $0.28, assuming trading volume stays steady or increases.
Yet, this possible advantage should be put into a broader perspective of the user retention problem. The healthy ecosystem stimulates a healthy token use, leading to price discovery.
The drop in monthly users after 60 days seriously threatens growth. If left unchecked, it could significantly damage the platform’s long-term valuation.
