A wallet linked to a large unidentified holder has accumulated over 330.35 billion Pi crypto coins. Currently, the assets are worth around $149 million. The accumulation has sparked interest as Pi coin gains new visibility during the ongoing altcoin season, despite a price decline.
Whale Wallet Bags 330 Billion Pi Crypto as Price Drops
The wallet address GASWBDATCX…KJ2AODM has emerged as the sixth-largest Pi holder globally. It began accumulating Pi crypto three months ago and showed no signs of slowing. The wallet’s holdings now exceeded 330,354,740.34 Pi, according to Piscan, and have overtaken major exchange wallets like Gate.io and Bitget.

Despite Pi crypto price falling more than 70% from its May peak, this whale continued accumulating. On-chain records showed several recent large transactions. These consisted of 827,785.27 Pi removed from OKX, 179,091.93 Pi, and 108,140.76 Pi in two other transactions. All funds unlocked and available also confirm the hypothesis of strategic accumulation.
Analyst Kim H Wong, who flagged the wallet, suggested that the activity could indicate a major liquidity exchange. He further said that the trend is similar to pre-listing conduct but without any exchange and confirmation of property. The Pi Core Team has also remained silent on the wallet’s identity or purpose.
Some in the community suspect the wallet may be a buyback address managed by the Pi Core Team. Its aggressive activity during price weakness supports this theory. Some claim it can be associated with Binance or some other big exchange.
Altseason Visibility Adds Momentum to Pi Crypto
As Pi crypto continues to decline in price, its presence on altcoin performance lists has come as a surprise. The Times of Pi Network tweet showed that Pi crypto now appears in a 90-day top 100 coin performance chart.
This visibility comes even as Pi coin price traded around $0.44, well below its previous high.

The fact that the Altcoin Season Index stood at 56 at the time of writing is notable, as this means that the market is shifting towards altcoins. Most altcoins have rallied in recent weeks. However, Pi crypto has sharply diverged. The altcoin dropped by more than 30% since June, when the TOTAL3 market cap increased by over $200 billion to above $1 trillion.

Despite this, analysts suggested the increased visibility may offer renewed momentum for Pi crypto. The tweet noted that Pi’s inclusion in the ranking was unexpected. It underlined that the community traction, utility, and brand exposure are becoming more positive.
Interestingly, one of the possible reasons for the whale to amass could be visibility during altcoin season. Market entry strategies often align with broader sector movements. Holding large volumes of Pi crypto during increased attention could prove strategically beneficial if listing occurs.
Retail Dominance Persists but Whale Influence Expands
Furthermore, Pi’s distribution data showed over 84% of holders own under 10 Pi. This category, “Microbes, ” represented over 12.7 million wallets. However, only 17 wallets are classified as “Whales,” each holding more than 10 million Pi. Collectively, they comprise only 0.0001% of any accounts, yet they dominate the supply.

The “ODM” whale held more Pi than all but a few foundation addresses. It controls 3.05% of the total circulating supply, exceeding the holdings of three known exchange wallets. This growing concentration could influence future market trends.
Although Pi crypto has not received a formal exchange listing from exchanges like Binance, whale interest suggests institutional readiness. The most common signal employed in preparation for liquidity is accumulation during downtrends. If this is the case, it may mark a turning point for Pi crypto.
