WLFI, the native cryptocurrency of Donald Trump’s DeFi project World Liberty Financial, has been on investors’ radar after facing strong volatility over the past week. Over the past weekend, the token price surged by 51% after bouncing back from the support of $0.17. Moreover, the freezing of Tron founder Justin Sun’s wallet, holding of the tokens, has caused major uproar in the market.
WLFI Token Bounces Back 51%
After facing intense selling pressure and moving to $0.17, the World Liberty Financial token price has surged by 51% again, moving all the way to $0.25. However, volatility has struck once again, as the token is facing strong selling pressure today, correcting 10%, and slipping to $0.2086.
Traders have been riding this volatility, benefiting from the wLFI price fluctuations. Crypto analyst Michael van de Poppe said he is actively trading WLFI. The analysts added that strong volatility and trading volume are favorable conditions.
He noted that the token has entered an uptrend and highlighted $0.21 as an attractive entry point on potential pullbacks. If the trend holds, van de Poppe expects WLFI to target $0.30 soon.

Justin Sun At Odds With World Liberty Financial
Tron founder Justin Sun has pushed back against World Liberty Financial after the Trump-backed project froze 540 million unlocked WLFI tokens linked to his wallet. This led to a major controversy as the project blocked him from transferring assets he received in his advisory capacity.
The platform blacklisted Sun’s wallet on Thursday after an address associated with him moved World Liberty Financial tokens on Ethereum. Interestingly. The transaction value was roughly around $9 million.
Following the launch, the World Liberty Financial token price crashed from the highs of $0.32, to the low of $0.22. There have been allegations that Sun was behind the massive selloffs. However, Sun lashed out at the World Liberty Financial team, stating that the freezing of his wallet was “unreasonable”.
He stated that unilateral freezes infringe on “the legitimate rights of investors” and could erode trust in the project. However, to find common ground amicably, Sun announced that he would make an additional $10 million WLFI token purchase. In his message on the X platform, Sun wrote:
Despite the current volatility in WLFI, the Trump family made huge wealth in the process. The Trump family has accumulated nearly $1.3 billion in crypto wealth through holdings in World Liberty Financial (WLFI) and American Bitcoin (ABTC). WLFI, launched on September 1 with a $7 billion market cap, is estimated by Bloomberg to have added $670 million to the family’s net worth.
Eric Trump also recorded sizable gains from ABTC, a Bitcoin mining firm founded in March. Holding roughly 7.5% of the company, his stake briefly approached $1 billion after ABTC’s stock market debut on September 3.
WLFI Technical Chart Patterns
On the 1-hour chart, WLFI is trading within a descending channel. Moreover, the MACD shows a bearish crossover that signals potential difficulty breaking above resistance.

Trading volume further supports this outlook. While WLFI’s launch saw volumes exceed $5 billion, activity has since declined to around $1.5 billion. The pullback indicates fading speculative momentum as traders book profits and market activity stabilizes.
