Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong Predicts Bitcoin Could Hit $1M by 2030

Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong recently made a bold Bitcoin price prediction for $1 million by 2030. Armstrong believes that the ongoing Bitcoin adoption by corporates and institutional players could aid this rally. BTC price is currently flirting at $112,000 level amid strong selling pressure.

Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong on Bitcoin Rally

Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong emphasized that strong crypto regulatory frameworks in the United States, such as the GENIUS Act, can trigger a 10x Bitcoin price rally in the next five years. According to Armstrong, clearer rules combined with growing institutional adoption are key drivers for BTC’s long-term upside.

Armstrong also highlighted Bitcoin’s fixed 21 million supply, highlighting the cryptocurrency supply cap. He added that this combined with regulatory clarity and increasing adoption, could fuel significant upward price momentum. The Coinbase CEO’s comments came during his recent interview with Fox Business.

This is not the first time Brian Armstrong has made this bold prediction. Last month, while speaking at the “Cheeky Point” podcast, he shared a similar target. Furthermore, he’s also bullish about the United States building a strategic Bitcoin reserve. He said:

“Fingers crossed something could happen by the end of this year, that would be a huge milestone. If you asked me five years ago, that would have been like a vision board. Someone would have said you’re crazy, the United States government is not going to officially hold Bitcoin.”

Coinbase CEO Targets Traditional Banks With Crypto Super App

Last week, Brian Armstrong also outlined his ambitious goals of transforming Coinbase into a full-service crypto “super app”. He is taking the fight straight away to traditional banks while positioning the super app as an alternative.

During the interview, Armstrong confirmed that Coinbase plans to offer a comprehensive suite of financial services. This will include payments, credit cards, and rewards, all built on cryptocurrency infrastructure..

Furthermore, Armstrong criticized the existing banking system, calling it inefficient and outdated. He highlighted high transaction fees as a major drawback that crypto-based solutions could address.

“Yes, we do want to become a super app and provide all types of financial services. We want to become people’s primary financial account and I think that crypto has a right to do that,” said Armstrong.

Brian Armstrong said the company’s long-term vision includes offering improved financial services, such as a credit card providing 4% Bitcoin rewards. “Ultimately, we want to be a bank replacement for people. We’ve partnered with banks like JPMorgan and PNC, but their policy teams sometimes follow a different playbook. We’d prefer they operated on a level playing field with every other company,” he added.

Brian Armstrong Backs the Crypto Bill

Last week, Brian Armstrong was in Washington D.C., in key discussions with White House Crypto Council to push forward the crypto bill. The Digital Asset Market Clarity Act aims to define the regulatory responsibilities of the Securities and Exchange Commission, the Commodity Futures Trading Commission. It also seeks to define roles of other financial agencies overseeing the crypto market, with a particular focus on non-stablecoins like tokenized stocks.

The Coinbase CEO said that the crypto bill is essential to ensure the crypto industry can grow in the U.S. It will also foster innovation, protect consumers, and prevent another regulator like Gary Gensler from infringing on your rights, he said. Commenting on the state of the crypto bill, Armstrong said:

“I think this has a good chance of getting done, I’ve actually never been more bullish on the market structure [bill] getting passed, it’s a freight train leaving the station.”
