Circle Stock Down 11% Despite Circle’s Plans to Launch Token for Arc Blockchain

Circle Stock (CRCL) fell 8% to $88.41 on the New York Stock Exchange after the company released its third-quarter earnings.

The stablecoin firm also announced plans to launch a new token for its Arc blockchain. The stock drop came even with strong profit growth and higher revenue in the recent quarter.

Circle Reports Revenue and Profit Growth

Circle Internet Group posted total revenue and reserve income of $740 million for the third quarter.

This shows a 66% rise compared to the same period last year. The company also reported a net income of $214 million, representing a 202% increase from the same period last year.

The results mark a recovery from the second quarter when Circle had a net loss of $482 million.

Meanwhile, the earlier loss primarily stemmed from non-cash charges associated with its IPO. Adjusted EBITDA climbed to $166 million, which represents a 78% year-on-year increase.

Even with these strong numbers, Circle Stock dropped nearly 11.36% in trading. It opened the day at $98.19 and closed at $88.41.

During the day, the stock traded between $86.13 and $95.52. Circle’s market value now stands at $20.8 billion, and trading volume averaged 10.47 million shares.

Chief Executive Officer Jeremy Allaire said the company made steady progress in building platforms for startups and financial firms.

He also said activity across its network grew sharply. According to him, annualized transaction volume has now reached $3.4 billion, based on recent 30-day activity.

Circle Prepares Token for Arc Blockchain

Circle is developing a new blockchain called Arc, which it describes as an open system for businesses and developers.

The company confirmed it is creating a token that will power transactions and participation on the Arc network.

The token is part of Circle’s broader plan to expand its presence in blockchain-based financial systems.

Over 100 companies are helping to test the Arc platform. The goal is to create a faster, more connected network for digital payments and finance applications.

The new token would be used within that system, linking it to existing products like USD Coin (USDC).

The company has not given a specific launch date for the token but said it is working closely with partners to ensure smooth development.

Market participants believe that the new token could open up more use cases for Circle’s technology, although its impact will depend on how quickly adoption grows once it is launched.

It is also worth noting that Circle’s main stablecoin, USDC, continued to grow during the quarter.

The amount in circulation reached $73.7 billion at the end of the third quarter, which is a 108% increase from the previous year.

USDC remains the second-largest stablecoin in the market, behind Tether’s USDT.

The company may see even more usage of USDC as Visa has started a pilot program to test USDC payments among U.S. businesses.

This could strengthen Circle’s link to traditional finance while supporting its blockchain plans.

Circle Stock Reaction to Earnings and Token News

The decline in Circle Stock suggests that investors are closely watching the company’s new plans.

Some traders may be taking profit after the recent rise in price, while others may want more clarity on how the Arc token will fit into Circle’s long-term growth.

The market reaction also shows a cautious view of the digital asset sector. Investors continue to weigh strong earnings against the risks associated with crypto regulations and price fluctuations.

Still, the firm’s recent results show that its core business is expanding. Higher revenue, stronger profit, and a growing stablecoin supply suggest that Circle’s financial position is improving.

Market watchers believe that the token launch could further expand its ecosystem if the Arc blockchain gains wide support.

Circle’s leadership says it will continue to focus on building reliable infrastructure for digital finance.

The company believes its mix of regulated stablecoins, blockchain tools, and payment solutions provides a solid foundation for future growth.

For now, Circle Stock remains under pressure, but analysts say upcoming product developments could influence how investors view the company in the next quarter.
