Solana Mobile’s SKR Token Is Coming to the Seeker Phone: What to Know

Solana Mobile announced its SKR token will launch on January 21, 2026, at 2am UTC, with Seeker smartphone users eligible to claim up to 20% of the token via airdrop.

The company stated on January 8 that users will delegate tokens to Guardians who secure the network, verify devices, and curate the decentralized app store.

Users will earn rewards in exchange for delegating the tokens and accessing exclusive in-app features.

Solana Mobile Announces SKR Token Launch for January 21

Solana Mobile announced that SKR will launch on January 21 at 2:00 a.m. UTC, corresponding to January 20 at 9:00 p.m. EST. The native asset of the Solana Mobile ecosystem will distribute control, power curation, and align incentives across builders, users, and hardware partners.

The community will govern the platform, builders keep what they earn, and users own a stake in the value they create.

General Manager Emmett Hollyer stated SKR will give people who have supported the platform the opportunity to influence its success.

The token determines who can participate, the rules they must follow, and the economic flows that sustain the platform. The airdrop is the first step in implementing community governance.

The SKR token operates within the TEEPIN framework where Guardians verify device authenticity, coordinate dApp reviews, and enforce community standards.

By staking SKR to a Guardian, users participate in governing the platform and earn rewards for securing the network.

Solana Mobile will operate the first Guardian at 0% commission during the bootstrap phase before transitioning to third-party operators.

Guardians earn rewards for running automated security checks, reviewing app submissions, generating cryptographic proofs, and updating verification software.

Applications for becoming a Guardian will open in 2026. The infrastructure platforms Anza, DoubleZero, Helius, and Jito are among the initial Guardians.

Twenty Percent of SKR Supply Allocated to Seeker Airdrop

Solana Mobile allocated 20% of SKR’s total supply for users and developers in the airdrop. The snapshot has been taken for distribution.

The 10 billion total SKR supply includes 30% for airdrops, with two-thirds of that allocated to Seeker users and developers. The airdrop will be unlocked at launch.

On day one, 57% of SKR will be distributed. This includes 2.7 billion SKR, or 27% of total supply, unlocked during the token generation event. Of that amount, 1 billion tokens go to the community treasury, another 1 billion to liquidity, and 700 million to growth and partnerships.

The Solana Mobile team received a 15% allocation with a 12-month cliff and a 36-month linear vesting period. Solana Labs received 10% under the same vesting schedule.

Growth and partnerships received 25% with 28% unlocked at launch and linear unlock over 18 months. The community treasury holds 10% of its funds, managed via governance.

SKR employs linear inflation to incentivize early participation. Year one features 10% inflation, equaling 1 billion SKR.

Annual decay reduces inflation by 25% until reaching the terminal rate of 2% per annum. Staking rewards will become available in 2026 with a 2-day epoch unstaking period.

Users delegate SKR to a Guardian of their choice, earn staking rewards, and can unstake after the 2-day period.

More information about airdrop allocations and the claim process will be released before the January 21 launch.
