Is PEPE Price Signaling a Return of Risk Appetite in Meme Coins?

PEPE price rebounded sharply from a long demand zone as trading activity accelerated across major exchanges. The move came after weeks of compressed volatility and fading speculative participation. The rising volume now suggests that risk appetite is quietly returning to the meme coin market.

PEPE Price Defends Demand as Volume Surges

PEPE price defended a multi-month demand region, which repeatedly absorbed sell pressure. The rebound came after the print of the first higher low since November, changing the short-term structure. Daily volume increased substantially and reached levels not seen since the early quarter of Q4. Such volume behavior is often indicative of intent and not short-covering activity.

Market commentator CyrilXBT observed that meme assets rarely move without liquidity backing. He said that a strong reaction to the demand often shows a speculative tolerance.

According to his view, memes are driven by quiet returns of risk, not by sentiment peaks. Notably, the current price response of Pepe coin is consistent with its historical trend.

Technically, the defended zone is located near a previous consolidation zone that occurred before the breakdown in October. Price stalled there several times and reemphasized its structural relevance. Buyers absorbed supply without prolonged consolidation, providing confidence at those levels. This trend is often followed by attempts to regain higher value ranges.

PEPE Coin Breaks Short-Term Downtrend Structure

Lower timeframes showed Pepe breaking above a descending trendline, which capped the price since early December. The breakout came after several failed attempts, making it of greater technical significance. Momentum indicators moved higher as the price broke back through a previous resistance band. This change ensured less immediate downside continuation risk.

Crypto Bull noted that PEPE established a base above horizontal support, leading up to the breakout. He noted that repeated defense of that level gradually weakened sellers. Once price reclaimed the range midpoint, momentum accelerated rapidly. That change transformed the intraday structure from a bearish continuation to a recovery.

Despite the improvement, however, PEPE is still lower than major historical resistance zones. Price still trades under previous areas that invoked heavy distribution. However, returning to short-term structure is better for conditions during pullbacks. It also gives greater odds for range expansion if volume continues.

Leverage and On-Chain Activity Intensify

On-chain dashboards indicated increasing levels of leveraged exposure associated with PEPE around the rebound. Open interest increased in tandem with the price, indicating new positioning rather than forced liquidations. Funding rates continued to be contained, indicating that leverage has not yet reached extreme levels. This balance is what backs up the sustainability of the move thus far.

Data shared by Onchain Lens indicated that a high-profile trader was holding a leveraged PEPE position. The position was sitting with a large unrealized profit during the rally. Such positioning fosters growing conviction among speculative participants. Meme assets tend to be bought up early when sentiment is starting to shift.

However, leverage increases volatility during resistance tests. Rapid extensions without consolidation can invite sharp pullbacks. Still, current derivatives data imply that positioning remains in control.

Market Data Confirms Strength as PEPE Nears Resistance

Recent market data showed the PEPE price traded near $0.0000068 after a strong advance during the week. The token gained more than 69% on the weekly timeframe. This move coincided with visible growth in volume and participation in the market. Such alignment increases the credibility of the rally.

According to CoinMarketCap data, PEPE has a market capitalization of almost $2.83 billion. The fully diluted valuation equals the current market capitalization. Trading volume reached about $982 million in the last 24 hours. That number was a double-digit increase over previous sessions.

PEPE price is now trading close to a supply region created by the breakdown in late October. This zone had previously been supported before the sellers forced a deeper decline. CW saw that PEPE is testing one of its largest short-term resistance clusters. Price behavior around this area will define the next phase of PEPE coin price action.
