ABTC rose sharply on April 22, 2026, after American Bitcoin Corp. announced a major expansion of its mining operations. The company, co-founded by Eric Trump and Donald Trump Jr., added thousands of new mining machines, boosting production capacity and strengthening its position among public Bitcoin treasury firms.
The rally followed renewed investor interest in Bitcoin-linked equities, as mining expansion, treasury accumulation, and rising hash rate combined to support valuation growth. The development also highlighted the firm’s strategy of scaling mining output to accumulate Bitcoin below market cost.
American Bitcoin Expands Mining Capacity
American Bitcoin increased its mining fleet by installing 11,298 ASIC units at its Drumheller facility. This raised total deployed miners to 89,242, representing a 12% increase in operational capacity.

The expansion pushed the company’s hash rate higher by 3.05 exahashes per second, reaching a total of 28.1 EH/s. Higher hash rate improves the probability of mining Bitcoin blocks, which directly impacts revenue generation.
This move aligned with the firm’s stated strategy of accumulating Bitcoin through mining rather than purchasing it at market price. By increasing production capacity, the company aims to secure BTC at a lower effective cost.
According to available data, American Bitcoin held approximately 7,000 BTC, valued at over $534 million at current market prices. This positioned the firm among the top public Bitcoin treasury companies, ranking around 16th globally.
The company’s holdings exceeded those of several established crypto firms, including Galaxy Digital and Gemini.
Its market capitalization stood near $1 billion, with a market-to-net asset value (mNAV) ratio of 2.25. This indicated that investors valued the company at more than twice its underlying Bitcoin holdings, reflecting expectations of future growth.
ABTC Stock Price Reacts to Expansion
With the company’s valuation sitting at a premium as per mNAV, ABTC’s stock price surged 13% upon the news. At press time, the stock was trading at around $1.35, with the price heading toward the imbalance between $2.75 and $3.57.
From a bigger perspective, the price target for ABTC was around $10. Historical data showed ABTC had rallied from $0.65 to above $10 between mid-April and October last year.
A reading of 69 on the RSI Divergence indicator indicated a bullish signal had formed since the year started. Additionally, the Money Flow Index (MFI) was at 71 and rising, suggesting capital inflow into the crypto stock.

However, if ABTC price fell below the $0.65 level, it would invalidate the three-week bullish activity. That would hinder the stock’s price from trading to the $3 zone.
Eric Trump and Community React
Community reactions were mixed. For instance, co-founder Eric Trump backed this move, stressing that it was strengthening their position in the crypto economy. In a statement, Eric Trump said, “Scaling hash rate is one of the ways we strengthen our position in Bitcoin.”
The executive was backed by analyst Altcoin Buzz, likening ABTC to Michael Saylor’s playbook but on a different path. Saylor’s Strategy was buying BTC with equity at the market price while American Bitcoin was mining with scale.
Altcoin Buzz noted the endgame was the same with both approaches, resulting in a balance sheet full of BTC. Another user added that nothing would beat earning real BTC yield without the risk of wrapped tokens.
However, some environmentalists opposed this expansion. They argued that the move meant more energy consumption. A transaction of 1 BTC consumed about 1,335 kWh of energy. This power could run an average US home for a period of about a month and a half.
