Key Insights

  • MSTR stock price is trading more than 80% below its July 2025 peak of $434.
  • Strategy is currently sitting on an estimated unrealized loss of $11.2 billion on its Bitcoin holdings.
  • Some analysts warn that failure to reclaim the key $105 to $110 support zone could trigger another 30-40% fall.

The MSTR stock price seems to be on a freefall with another 7% in early trading hours on Wednesday, June 24. In the last three days since Strategy announced its $35 million Bitcoin purchase, from the proceeds of the MSTR share sale, the stock has come under heavy selling pressure. Company chairman Michael Saylor faces a major test ahead and might be forced to sell part of his BTC holdings.

MSTR Stock Price Crashes Under $100

For the first time since March 2024, the MSTR stock price is trading under $100 today. As of press time, massive liquidations have occurred for MSTR shareholders, leaving investors in a state of panic.

The largest Bitcoin holding firm faces a major test on whether to continue holding its Bitcoins, or sell them partially to buy back the MSTR stock, and protect itself from further downside. Speaking on the development, Bitcoin critic Peter Schiff wrote:

If short sellers push MSTR’s price low enough, they can put Saylor in a position where his best option would be to sell Bitcoin to buy back stock. That would reduce the discount, but it may not raise the share price, as Bitcoin will crash. That’s the box Saylor put himself in.

Amid this MSTR stock crash, it is now trading at more than 80% discount from its all-time high of $434, just one year back in July 2025. As a result of this, the company has wiped out nearly $160 billion from its market cap.

Strategy currently holds 847,363 Bitcoin, valued at approximately $53 billion based on the current market price, following the latest 520 BTC purchase. Besides, the MSTR stock is now trading at a discount relative to the company’s underlying BTC holdings.

At current prices, Strategy is sitting on an unrealized loss of roughly $11.2 billion on its Bitcoin position. The paper loss represents nearly 29% of the company’s total market capitalization.

MSTR Stock Price Can Crash Another 30%

As MSTR stock price tanks to $96, investors see the possibility of another 30% drop from here. Popular technical analyst Han Akamatsu noted that the MicroStrategy share price under $100 triggers a major risk of further liquidations.

According to the analyst, MSTR previously found strong support near $105 during the early stages of 2026. In addition, the weekly Hull Moving Average (HMA) support band is currently positioned around $110.

The analyst noted that a weekly close above the $105 to $110 area would be necessary to maintain the current market structure. Failure to reclaim could push the MicroStrategy share price down by another 30-40%.

STRC Comes Under Selling Pressure, Bitcoin Falls

Strategy chairman Michael Saylor sold over $300 million in MSTR shares last week to build the company’s USD reserves and protect STRC stock at $100 par value. However, Saylor’s move isn’t playing out as intended.

Market experts believe that Michael Saylor should stop any additional Bitcoin purchases and rather focus on the company’s dividend obligations. The STRC stock price has further corrected to $84 at press time, widening the gap with its par value. Thus, Strategy’s dividend obligations are likely to rise further.

As of now, the market is either expecting Saylor to sell a massive chunk of MSTR shares and increase the USD reserves. Or the second option could be him selling his Bitcoin holdings.

Amid this market panic, Bitcoin price has corrected 4% in the last few hours. Losing $60,000 support could further lead to a crash to $50,000.
