Cardano Price Falls Below $0.17 as Bearish Signals Mount

Cardano price extended its decline after three bearish signals appeared across whale activity, on-chain valuation and technical indicators.

ADA traded near $0.162, according to CoinGecko, after falling below the $0.170 support identified by analyst Ali Martinez. The token remained about 7% lower over seven days, with its latest 24-hour range between $0.1604 and $0.1683.

The breakdown shifts attention toward $0.144, which Martinez identified as the lower boundary of Cardano’s recent structure. ADA would first need to reclaim $0.170 to reduce immediate downside pressure.

Cardano Price Prediction: ADA Whale Holdings Fall After Rally

Cardano whale activity has weakened since the start of August. Martinez tracked wallets holding between 1 million and 10 million ADA and found that their number fell from 2,370 on August 2 to 2,340 during his analysis. The decline came after ADA climbed to about $0.2107, giving large holders room to lock in gains or redistribute tokens.

Martinez linked the falling wallet count to possible profit-taking after the recent price advance. ADA later moved below $0.19, showing that buyers failed to keep the token near its early August high. The change in whale balances now forms one part of the analyst’s three-signal bearish setup. Lower large-wallet participation can also leave less support if broader selling pressure increases.

ADA MVRV Death Cross Adds Another Warning

Meanwhile, Cardano’s market value to realized value ratio has also weakened. Martinez said ADA’s MVRV ratio formed a death cross with its seven-day simple moving average. Traders use the MVRV ratio to compare an asset’s market value with the average value at which holders acquired their tokens. A declining reading can indicate softer momentum after a strong price move.

The crossover arrived as whale balances declined, giving Martinez a second bearish measure. Ali Martinez linked the move to recent selling by larger holders. ADA has posted a 1.8% decline over the past 24 hours and a 4% loss across the previous week. Even after those declines, the token still carries a 15% gain over the past 30 days.

Cardano Price TD Sequential Sell Signal Raises Risk

Additionally, the TD Sequential indicator on Cardano price daily chart produced a sell signal. Martinez said the reading could precede a pullback lasting between one and four daily candlesticks. He also said the signal could start a fresh bearish countdown if selling pressure continues.

The TD Sequential signal follows the earlier rally above $0.21 and the subsequent correction. Martinez did not treat the indicator alone as confirmation of a deeper drop. Instead, he paired it with declining whale counts and the MVRV crossover. Together, the three measures form the bearish case behind his lower Cardano price targets.

Cardano Price Breaks $0.170 as $0.144 Comes Into Focus

Martinez initially identified $0.170 as the first downside target. ADA has since broken that level and traded near $0.162, making $0.170 resistance rather than immediate support.

The next major downside area in his analysis sits near $0.144. That level represents the lower boundary of the trading structure highlighted on his ADA chart.

A decline from $0.162 to $0.144 would represent roughly another 11% downside. A decisive break below $0.144 would weaken the existing structure further and require traders to reassess lower support areas.

The bullish invalidation begins with reclaiming $0.170. ADA would then face stronger resistance around $0.186 and the previous recovery region near $0.20–$0.21.

For now, the combination of declining whale-wallet counts, weaker MVRV momentum and the TD Sequential sell signal keeps pressure on the Cardano price. The loss of $0.170 leaves $0.144 as the next major level in Martinez’s bearish scenario.
