between Ethereum and Bitcoin products. Recent trading data showed stronger demand for spot Ethereum ETFs, while spot Bitcoin ETFs faced weaker flows.
That divergence has coincided with a period of relative strength in ETH price. Ethereum climbed toward $2,600 earlier this week before pulling back, while several market analysts argued that ETH could continue outperforming Bitcoin over the next few months.
The short-term setup now depends on whether Ethereum can stabilize around the $2,500 area and rebuild upside momentum.
Spot Ethereum ETFs See Greater Demand Over Bitcoin ETFs
Starting September 2026, there’s some major divergence between Ethereum ETFs and Bitcoin ETFs. During the last trading week ending September 11, spot Bitcoin ETFs saw $13 million in net outflows while spot Ethereum ETFs attracted $216 million in net inflows.

This shows a clear shift in institutional positioning, with larger capital moving into Bitcoin rather than Ethereum. Bitcoin ETF flows have remained weaker this week. However, continued inflows into Ethereum ETFs have contributed to the relative strength and breakout in ETH price.
Ethereum ETFs recorded $216.4 million in net inflows on September 11, lifting 30-day net flows to $2.18 billion. Despite several recent days of outflows, cumulative tracked inflows have reached $13.51 billion.
ETH Price Defends $2,500 Despite Volatility
The ETH price has seen some volatility this week. Ethereum broke out above the $2,550 level but lost momentum, then retested $2,500.
Popular analyst Daan Crypto Trades noted that Ethereum’s current move remains a healthy retest as long as the $2.5K level holds. He noted that $2.5K aligns with the top of the candle bodies and a high-volume node. Thus, it becomes a key level for the bulls to defend.

The analyst noted that any move under $2,500 would confirm that the recent upside was just a liquidity grab.
Another popular analyst, Crypto Patel, noted that the ETH price has climbed to $2,600 for the first time in seven months. This happened amid the softer US CPI, thereby triggering a broader crypto market rally.
US Core CPI came in at 2.4% year over year, while Bitcoin climbed above $79,000. The total crypto market capitalization also increased by $127 billion in around 90 minutes.
Crypto Patel said Ethereum is showing strength after breaking higher from an ascending triangle pattern, with the $2,800–$3,000 range emerging as the next key level to watch.

Will ETH Price Outperformance to Bitcoin Continue?
Ethereum continues to outperform Bitcoin, with the ETH/BTC pair moving higher after the ascending triangle pattern partially played out. Analyst LAR7 Crypto noted that the ongoing move is viewed as a positive factor for ETH. Thus, the analyst expects ETH to significantly outperform Bitcoin over the next few months.

The analyst also highlights ETH dominance (ETH.D) and TOTAL3 as key areas to watch. He believes that the Ethereum ecosystem remains a top priority in the current crypto market structure.
