Uniswap price recovered toward $7.36 on October 19 as CME Group’s planned futures launch brought renewed attention to UNI. The rebound followed a 20.8% decline between October 5 and October 18.
The development expanded regulated derivatives access to UNI after substantial volatility across cryptocurrency markets. However, CryptoQuant analysis indicated that selling-related exchange activity had remained elevated during the correction.
The contrast between new derivatives access and weakening token demand could influence UNI’s next trading range.
CME Group Sets October 19 Date for Uniswap Futures
CME Group announced the planned listing on September 22 as part of an expansion of its cryptocurrency derivatives business. The exchange intends to offer standard futures representing 10,000 UNI and Micro futures representing 1,000 UNI. Both contracts would allow market participants to manage UNI price exposure through CME’s regulated derivatives market.
At $6.83, a standard contract represents about $68,300 in underlying value. The smaller version represents approximately $6,830. CME also plans to introduce Bitcoin Cash futures on October 19. The company has made the proposed launch conditional on regulatory review and has not described that date as unconditional.
UNI Price Prediction Tracks Latest Selloff
UNI reached $10.93 on September 23 before retreating over the following weeks. Uniswap price fell from $9.08 on October 5 to $7.12 on October 8, a decline of approximately 21.6%. The drop followed a longer rally that had lifted UNI by 121.5% over the previous two months.
UNI traded above $7.30 earlier today before sliding below $7.00 and approaching $6.80. Its market capitalization stood at $4.27 billion, with 624.74 million UNI circulating. The decline continued even as the CME launch date drew closer.
Elevated trading activity also accompanied the earlier October downturn. Volume rose sharply on October 7 and October 8 as the price moved lower. Those sessions followed the stronger buying period in September, when UNI advanced the planned derivatives listing.
Binance Inflows Point to UNI Distribution
CryptoQuant analyst Darkfost reported that UNI had entered a distribution phase. His analysis focused on tokens moving into exchanges, particularly Binance, during the price retreat.
Darkfost’s chart showed Binance inflows exceeding $40 million on some days in late September. The inflow Z-score also rose above four several times, marking unusually high activity relative to its historical pattern. Such readings accompanied UNI’s reversal from the September high near $10.90.

Recent Binance inflows remained active but showed less momentum than the late-September spikes. Darkfost said a continued reduction could coincide with the end of the distribution phase. The chart does not establish a price bottom, and UNI’s October 18 decline showed that downward pressure had continued.
UNI price move below $6.74 would place Uniswap beneath its recent October lows. On the upside, $7.00 marks a nearby level after the latest intraday decline, while $9.08 remains a reference from October 5.
The CME futures listing will introduce another venue for long and short UNI exposure, subject to approval.
Early this year, CME Group announced plans to launch Cardano (ADA), Chainlink (LINK), and Stellar (XLM) futures. The planned listings formed part of the exchange’s expansion into cryptocurrency derivatives, offering institutional traders additional exposure to major altcoins. CME Group also outlined plans to introduce round-the-clock trading across its cryptocurrency futures and options markets.
