  • Bitcoin ETFs recorded $1.2B in outflows over three trading days.
  • ARKB will undergo a 3-for-1 stock split to attract retail investors.

Bitcoin ETF outflows topped $1.2B as Ethereum ETFs added $78M on June 2. ARKB prepares a 3-for-1 stock split to appeal to retail traders amid shifting investor sentiment.

Ethereum ETFs See Steady Inflows as Bitcoin Loses Traction

Ethereum spot exchange-traded funds (ETFs) recorded $78.2 Million in net inflows on June 2. This pushed their streak to 11 consecutive days of positive flows.

The trend comes as Bitcoin ETFs logged $267.5 million in net outflows on the same day, bringing their three-day total to nearly $1.2 Billion, according to Coinglass data.

On June 2, about 2,530 Bitcoin (BTC) exited ETF holdings. Meanwhile, 30,810 Ethereum (ETH) were added to ETF portfolios. This data was shared by @cryptoproject6 on X. This divergence marks a growing contrast in institutional sentiment between the two largest cryptocurrencies.

Bitcoin ETFs saw seven consecutive weeks of net inflows despite recent losses. This trend abruptly reversed, shifting investor interest away from Bitcoin.

Ethereum ETFs have now emerged as the new institutional favorite. However, this preference may change again depending on market conditions.

Bitcoin ETF Outflows Surge as Price Drops Below $104K

Spot Bitcoin ETFs in the United States have experienced a rapid flow shift. On June 2, there was a $267.5 Mllion outflow. This followed earlier daily exits of $394 Million and $570 Million. Over three days, the total outflow reached $1.2 Billion.

Bitcoin price dropped by 4% over the weekend, falling from above $108,000 to around $104,000. The decline triggered a wave of ETF redemptions.

Coinglass reported that $74 Million was withdrawn from the ARK 21Shares Bitcoin ETF (ARKB). The trend suggests investors reacted quickly to the downturn.

ARKB has now seen six consecutive trading days of outflows, totaling $430 Million. The fund holds $4.8 Billion in assets under management. It ranks as the third-largest Bitcoin ETF by total inflows at $2.37 Billion, behind BlackRock and Fidelity.

While recent losses have drawn attention to market volatility, long-term ETF demand remains elevated. Glassnode emphasized that prior weekly inflows of over 6,100 BTC indicated “consistent demand despite cooling momentum.”

ARKB Announces 3-for-1 Share Split Amid Market Pressure

On June 2, 21Shares announced that the ARK 21Shares Bitcoin ETF will undergo a 3-for-1 share split. The move aims to make the fund’s shares more affordable and appealing to retail investors.

The stock split will take effect on June 16, reducing the per-share price by two-thirds. As of market close on June 2, ARKB shares were priced at $104.25. It would drop to about $35 post-split.

According to 21Shares, the ETF’s holdings, net asset value, and strategy will remain unchanged. The firm stated the split is designed to “enhance trading efficiency” and “broaden investor access.”

Despite substantial long-term accumulation, ARKB’s performance comes under scrutiny as it trails peers in near-term inflows. With a year-to-date return of 7.35%, the ETF is also underperforming Bitcoin’s spot market. It gained over 11% in the same period.

Institutional Appetite Shifts as Ethereum Gains Favor

Ethereum ETFs, in contrast, have quietly gained institutional favor over the past two weeks. Wu Blockchain highlighted that June 2 marked the 11th consecutive day of inflows into ETH-based funds.

Ethereum has not yet received U.S. ETF approval on the same scale as Bitcoin. However, market trends show growing investor confidence. On June 2, Ethereum recorded net inflows of $78.2 Million.

This follows a steady accumulation pattern. The trend suggests a possible shift in capital allocation strategies. Analysts say Ethereum’s upcoming staking and scaling upgrades may be attracting attention.

Ethereum ETFs are seeing increased inflows, signaling growing institutional interest. The trend suggests ETH is becoming a key holding alongside Bitcoin. Ethereum ETFs may play a larger role in portfolio allocation strategies as inflows continue.

ETF Flows Reflect Broader Market Sentiment Shift

The divergence in ETF flows between Bitcoin and Ethereum underscores evolving institutional sentiment. As Bitcoin ETFs experience rapid outflows, Ethereum ETFs show rising confidence.

The ARK 21Shares share split reflects efforts to retain retail interest amid a competitive ETF landscape. While Bitcoin remains dominant in terms of market cap and ETF scale, ETH is catching up regarding flow consistency.

Investors are closely monitoring whether Ethereum’s inflow streak can maintain its momentum. Bitcoin ETFs face uncertainty as they either stabilize or continue losing capital. Market sentiment will depend on price trends and institutional demand.
