Fidelity’s Solana and Canary’s XRP & HBAR ETFs List on DTCC in Pre-Launch Step

Key Insights:

  • DTCC Lists Solana, HBAR, and XRP ETFs, boosting optimism
  • A Bloomberg ETF Analyst says “this means nothing”, stating many listed tickers never launched.
  • Solana, XRP, and HBAR ETF approval odds skyrocket.

The Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC) website has listed Fidelity’s Solana ETF and Canary’s HBAR and XRP ETFs. It is the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) that makes ETF approval decisions. So, the DTCC website listing does not mean regulatory approvals for ETFs.

However, crypto enthusiasts seem pretty excited since Solana, HBAR, and XRP ETFs got listed on the DTCC website. As Wu Blockchain tweeted, it is part of the standard process in preparing to launch new ETFs.

This news certainly does not guarantee the approval of the Solana ETF or the HBAR and XRP ETF, but it is a positive development.

Importance of DTCC Website Listing for Solana, HBAR, and XRP ETFs

Many crypto users consider the DTCC website listing for Solana, HBAR, and XRP ETFs a major step forward. Both ETF issuers filed for these ETFs several months ago. Now, the SEC may take approval decisions in October and November.

Should SOL, HBAR, and XRP holders consider the DTCC website listing of ETFs as an important move? Yes, they should, but these listings do not guarantee regulatory approval.

Nate Geraci, the President of NovaDius Wealth Management, stated the DTCC listing means nothing from a regulatory standpoint. He firmly believes the SEC will approve the XRP ETF and other ETFs.

Eric Balchunas, who is a Senior ETF Analyst at Bloomberg, also agreed with Nate. He replied, “Nothing to see here”. Balchunas also stated that DTCC added many tickers, which never launched.

That said, crypto enthusiasts should not lose hope because XRP, HBAR, and Solana ETF approval odds are skyrocketing at press time!

The SEC Might Approve Solana, HBAR, and XRP ETFs Soon

The SEC took about a decade to approve the first spot Bitcoin ETFs. This journey began with the Winklevoss twins filing for a spot Bitcoin ETF in 2013 and ended with the SEC’s approval of BlackRock, Fidelity, Ark/21Shares, and other BTC ETFs.

The US SEC has consistently rejected or delayed early crypto ETF applications due to market manipulation, investor protection, and custody concerns. Several asset managers applied and failed to gain the SEC’s approval for their exchange-traded funds.

Ethereum ETF filing asset managers, including VanEck, Grayscale, and others, also waited about 7 years to get the SEC’s NOD. The U.S. federal agency permitted the launch of the Ethereum futures ETFs in October 2023, but Spot ETFs were still delayed.

The agency finally approved the spot Ethereum (ETH) ETFs in July 2024. That gave crypto investors hopes that the SEC may soon give the green light to other altcoin ETFs as well.

Solana ETFs, HBAR ETF, and XRP ETF have been waiting for regulatory approval for several months. Canary Capital filed an XRP ETF in October 2024, and the SEC might approve or disapprove it in October 2025.

The SEC also delayed the approval of Canary’s Hedera HBAR ETF until November 8, 2025. It will also decide on Grayscale’s Polkadot ETF on this date. So, asset managers and retail and institutional investors are eagerly awaiting the SEC’s decisions.

Solana, HBAR, and XRP ETF Approval Odds are High

After the DTCC website listing, Fidelity’s Solana and Canary’s HBAR and XRP ETF approval odds seem pretty high. Many crypto analysts and experts have predicted that the SEC might finally approve altcoin ETFs before the year’s end.

With over 99% approval odds on Polymarket, Solana ETFs lead XRP ETF (92% chance) and HBAR ETF (90% odds). It will be quite exciting if those odds turn into reality.
