Bitcoin Price Prediction Overview
Bitcoin analysts on X have predicted that the price of BTC could target between $160,000 and $170,000 for the leading cryptocurrency.
The platform attached a diminishing golden curve chart to support the bullish forecast. The chart is plotted on a logarithmic scale from 2013 to late 2025. It overlays historical BTC price data with projected curves.
Earlier cycles, 2013, 2017, and 2021, notably showed wider spacing between curves, allowing for massive gains. The curves converging over time show the ” diminishing ” effect, signaling reduced upside volatility as the BTC price stabilizes.
The top curves act as resistance levels for cycle peaks, while lower ones indicate support or accumulation zones. The chart points to late 2025 as the next peak, with the decline starting early 2026.
November 2023, labeled “Cycle Top +5”, marked the end of Bitcoin’s first major bull run.
Following this, the price of BTC experienced a new peak in December 2017, marking Cycle Top +4. By November 2021, the diminishing multiplier appears from +5 to +3.

The final Bitcoin price prediction peak, with curves labeled up to “Cycle Top +2”, targets BTC approximately $160,000 to $170,000. This is where the rightmost upward arc ends on the graph, suggesting the cycle’s climax.
As of this writing, BTC is priced at $116,077, with a market cap of $2.3 trillion and trading volume standing at $45.1 billion.
Arthur Hayes Says BTC Bull Market to Last Until 2026
Arthur Hayes, the influential co-founder of BitMEX and CIO of Maelstrom Fund, shared his take on the current BTC bull market.
In a recent YouTube interview with podcaster Kyle Chasse, Hayes urged Bitcoin holders to “HODL” through market noise.
He dismissed short-term FOMO over record highs in traditional stocks and gold. Hayes argued that the Bitcoin cycle is decoupled and operates on deeper macro waves.
According to the BitMEX co-founder, investors chasing daily headlines risk selling at bottoms.
Hayes sees the current crypto bull stretching into 2026, due to fiscal expansion and surging institutional adoption. He anticipates President Donald Trump will stimulate the economy in mid-2026.
Note that this is not the first time Hayes has made a bullish BTC prediction. In July, Hayes forecasted that BTC could hit $250,000 by the end of 2025.
He cited similar factors like massive credit expansion, wartime spending, and favorable U.S. crypto policy for this price target.
Bitcoin Price Prediction and Altcoin Correlation
Despite the bullish prediction, CryptoQuant analyst Maartunn recently issued cautious sentiments regarding BTC’s future price movement.
The analyst highlighted that the gap between BTC and altcoin open interest (OI) hit a new high. This refers to the difference between aggregated altcoin OI and the Bitcoin open interest.

A widening gap means altcoin futures activity is surging faster than BTC’s. This suggests capital is rotating from Bitcoin to altcoins, including Ethereum (ETH), Solana (SOL), and even memecoins. It is a classic risk-on signal, where traders bet on outsized altcoin gains during bull phases.
Per TradingView data, altcoin OI has climbed sharply to $69.18 billion. On the other hand, BTC OI hovers around $41.49 billion. Accordingly, the gap hit a record high of approximately $28 billion.
In addition to this widening gap, the CMC Altseason Index recently hit 78. This means more altcoins are outperforming BTC over 90 days.
