XRP Price Will Decouple From Bitcoin, Top Analyst Predicts

XRP could move independently of Bitcoin as banks and payment networks adopt it for real transactions.

Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse stresses the coin’s role in cross-border payments, while Grayscale includes XRP in its Digital Large Cap Fund that launched September 19, 2025.

XRP Price and Bitcoin: Signs of a Breakaway

Analysts believe XRP may no longer follow Bitcoin’s price in the same way it once did. Black Swan Capitalist, a market commentator, said XRP could separate from Bitcoin when real settlement demand begins to drive its price. He noted that this shift would happen gradually as adoption grows.

Brad Garlinghouse, the Chief Executive Officer of Ripple Labs, explained XRP’s function at a recent event.

He described how a payment might start with U.S. dollars, move into XRP, and then convert to Mexican pesos in seconds.

This system avoids slow transfers and shows how XRP can act as a bridge in global payments.

For Garlinghouse, the difference between speculation and use is important. He argues that XRP is one of the few digital assets prepared to solve a large financial problem.

He called it a tool for easing the “oil” of correspondent banking by providing real-time liquidity. XRP is priced at $3.03, showing a 2.67% drop in the past 24 hours.

While the coin still reacts to market shifts, its role in payments may allow it to take a different price path from Bitcoin.

Growing Utility Could Support XRP Price Changes

XRP’s strongest use case lies in its use for payments. Garlinghouse has said it is positioned to address multi-trillion-dollar flows between countries.

This focus has drawn interest from institutions looking for cheaper and faster transfer systems.

Black Swan Capitalist highlighted that more banks and networks using XRP would mean more demand directly linked to utility.

Notably, as usage increases, value could shift from being based on speculation to being tied to real activity.

Developments on the XRP Ledger also show its wider potential. A project called REAL Token is bringing real estate to the network.

The developer disclosed that this could increase transactions and broaden XRP’s reach beyond payments. With assets such as property moving on-chain, the range of use cases grows.

Investors noted that utility does not mean instant price growth. However, they argue that consistent adoption would add stability over time.

This change might reduce XRP’s sensitivity to Bitcoin’s movements, giving it a clearer identity in the market.

Grayscale Fund Launch and Institutional Interest

Institutional access is also increasing with the arrival of new investment products.

Grayscale has confirmed that its Digital Large Cap Fund has now launched, marking a new trend in the broader market.

The fund will be the first multi-asset crypto exchange-traded fund in the United States.

The product tracks the CoinDesk 5 Index. It carries a heavy weighting in Bitcoin at 77.5%, followed by Ethereum at 12.42%.

XRP makes up 5.72%, with Solana at 3.25% and Cardano at 1.05%. Analysts say the inclusion of XRP gives the coin visibility within a regulated vehicle.

Ahead of the launch, Grayscale moved 40,000 Ethereum toward staking addresses from its larger holdings.

This action was made possible by new listing standards approved by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission on September 17, 2025.

The rule changes shorten approval to 75 days and apply across assets, not on a case-by-case basis.

While Ethereum was the subject of the move, XRP benefits from being part of the new fund.

Observers suggest the ETF could bring a wave of institutional interest. With regulated exposure, XRP might gain new credibility and broader adoption in financial markets.
