The crypto markets are moving, thanks to the decision by the Federal Reserve to cut rates as of September 17th. Uniswap was trading below $10, just below its recent high of $12. The daily price fluctuation dropped by 5%, which whales eyed as a discount.
UNI is among the leading protocols for Ethereum, positioning it as a key project to watch. Detailed reports affirmed why Uniswap led Ethereum (ETH) decentralized exchanges (DEXs). The altcoin reclaimed $10 following a bearish period that bottomed around the $5 zone.
These signals elicited predictions from analysts across platforms. While the $12 breakout seemed imminent, it was unclear how low the current correction would go.
Uniswap Price Eyes Breakout Beyond $12
Uniswap price was eyeing a $12 breakout, as noted by Bit Rise on CoinMarketCap. The analysts explained that Uniswap was in a classic accumulation behavior. The $9 zone was holding. However, the UNI price needed to break and hold above the $10 level for the move.
The accumulation represented lower highs and lows, with $9 hinting at the bulls’ presence. Even the rate cut inducement did not affect the Uniswap price like other cryptos.
In the meantime, the Uniswap price structure remained bearish in the short term and bullish in the long term. Also, considering the period of the year we’re headed to, crypto is historically bullish.

As of press time, UNI was trading around a key zone that pushed the price to the predicted breakout level. This was another confluence. Still, it was unclear how long the current would last, though there were signs of reversal.
Structure breaks on the daily chart would confirm the reversal toward the $12 breakout level. Otherwise, UNI remained bearish as of press time.
Whale Accumulates $1.5M UNI Amid Breakout Talks
While the technical analysts pointed toward a breakout past $12, whales aligned with the move. As per a report by Lookonchain on X (formerly Twitter), a whale added 155,455 UNI for $1.5 Million. The total holdings of this whale reached 1.13 UNI, worth $11 when writing.
In addition, the whale possessed 74,281 Chainlink (LINK) tokens valued at $1.8 Million. The positioning of the whale hinted that the current stall at $9 could be a reversal in the making.
More importantly, the price was trading just above the last higher high before Uniswap broke above $10, a classic DCA zone.

Unlike the big players’ actions hinting at a potential breakout, Uniswap displayed strength in other categories. In particular, revenue generation is crucial because it attracts investors to participate in yield-generating programs like staking.
Fees By Category: Uniswap Leads ETH DEXs
UNI maintained its position as the largest Ethereum DEX with $3.71 Million in fees raised over the last 24 hours. The weekly and monthly fees generated were $28.5M and $137.52M, respectively. The protocol charged 0.3% of each swap. Such fees then meant very high user interaction.
Meanwhile, Pump.fun outperformed other protocols, except for the stablecoin issuers Tether and Circle. They have led for the longest time. Aave Protocol (AAVE) led the lending sector, while Lido DAO (LDO) topped among ETH staking protocols.

The odds of Uniswap breaking past $12 were alive as they aligned with a historical period that is bullish. Furthermore, the Fed had cut interest rates.
Thus, more capital was expected to flow into crypto and other risk-on assets. Still, the unpredictability of the changing times in the markets need not be ignored.
