Hyperliquid’s governance token, HYPE, is on the verge of a significant supply event, starting November 29, 2025. 237.8 million tokens will start vesting linearly over 24 months.
The unlock planned at a reference price of $50 per token can be valued at $11.9 billion, or approximately $500 million monthly.

Through buyback is 17% of the projected issuance. Arthur Hayes, who predicts HYPE will hit $5,000 in the long run, expects a potential overhang on the project.
DAT Fundraising Provides Partial Cushion
In order to overcome dilution pressure, Hyperliquid and related Decentralized Asset Trusts (DATs) have held fundraising campaigns. Among the largest DATs, Sonnet has collected approximately HYPE tokens valued at $583 million and cash worth $305 million. These totals are supplemented by other and smaller DAT projects, which are miles short of the magnitude needed to clear the whole unlock stream.

As analysts observe, despite the combined efforts of Sonnet and other pools, the coverage is very poor as compared to the $11.9 billion vesting pipeline. The difference highlights how the market’s depth and liquidity will be tested as the supply of the tokens grows.
According to data provided by Artemis, there has been a recent decline in Hyperliquid’s derivatives activity. Perpetuals volume dropped to 5.3 billion, which is a 58.3% drop of the highs in the recent past. Volume peaked at over $25 billion in mid-August, but turned down in September, as more focus was placed on the unlock schedule.
The contraction could indicate the traders are assuming a more conservative stance before the vesting commencement date. Reduced liquidity may increase the effects of new supply if market participation is not restored.
Hyperliquid Price Holds Key Structural Zone
Looking at HYPE price charts, we see that the token has retested at the lower limit of a medium-term upward channel. This level meets a horizontal structure zone in the $49-$50 range. The need to support around this intersection is considered critical to holding on the uptrend.
If the structure is not broken, the upper band of the channel may indicate that the channel can rebound to $60. Any definitive break that falls below the support zone. This puts the next apparent area of historical demand at the mid-$40 area.
Hyperliquid has experienced major growth in its ecosystem, despite the supply issues. The traders and liquidity providers have been attracted to the platform, which offers on-chain derivatives and dollar-pegged stablecoins.
The scheduled unlock coincides with general shifts in digital-asset markets, where key arenas’ open interest and funding data has become inconsistent. The volatility or derivatives flows of Bitcoin can be regarded as an indicator of risk appetite. The change in its positioning may impact the attitude to smaller assets, including HYPE.

The interactions between unlock-related flows and liquidity providers, DAT treasuries and internal buybacks will be followed by market participants. Such persistent trading depth can aid in absorbing issuance, whereas low-thin situations may exaggerate price reaction. Interactions between unlock schedules and liquidity in the market may tend to determine the medium-term direction of governance tokens.
Hyperliquid goes into the last quarter of 2025 with a mix of good ecosystem fundamentals and a large future supply event. Should recent ETF applications on HYPE go through, the ecosystem could be in for a green last quarter.
