Chainlink price turned green following S&P Global’s announcement of a collaboration to deliver stablecoin stability assessments on-chain via the oracle platform.
The Chainlink price recovered from $18.22 to $18.60 at the time of writing, although LINK remains down over 5% in the last 24 hours and over 18% in the last seven days.
S&P Global Brings Stablecoin Assessments On-Chain via Chainlink Partnership
S&P Global Ratings announced collaboration with Chainlink to deliver Stablecoin Stability Assessments on-chain through DataLink.
The partnership enables real-time access to comprehensive stability assessments of stablecoins directly within blockchain infrastructure.
The on-chain SSAs provide market participants with independent stablecoin risk analysis accessible within DeFi protocols and smart contracts for the first time.
The collaboration enables lending platforms, DeFi protocols, and institutional investors to integrate S&P Global Ratings’ analytical risk assessments directly into their automated decision-making processes.
Chuck Mounts, Chief DeFi Officer at S&P Global, stated that “the launch of SSAs on-chain through Chainlink underscores our commitment to meeting our clients where they are.”
The on-chain SSAs will first launch on Base. Expansion to additional networks is planned based on market demand and client feedback.
Chainlink Price Recovers Following Partnership Announcement
The Chainlink price showed positive movement following the S&P Global announcement, recovering from $18.22 to $18.60.
The modest gain shows market recognition of the partnership’s strategic significance for institutional adoption.
The Chainlink price remains down 5% over 24 hours showing the overall cryptocurrency market weakness from tariff-driven volatility.
The seven-day decline of 18% also shows the sector-wide corrections following Friday’s crash. The partnership announcement provided temporary support amid otherwise negative market sentiment.

The announcement’s timing during market weakness allowed investors to position themselves ahead of a potential continued recovery.
The Chainlink price faces resistance from recent selling pressure and has now found support from institutional partnership news. Chart patterns show consolidation around current $18.60 levels following the bounce from $18.22 lows.
Sergey Nazarov Highlights Institutional Adoption Potential
Chainlink co-founder Sergey Nazarov expressed excitement about S&P Global Ratings leveraging the oracle network to bring stablecoin stability assessments on-chain for the first time.
Nazarov stated the collaboration empowers “the world’s largest institutions to adopt stablecoins at scale” by extending S&P’s reach directly into the digital asset economy.
Nazarov emphasized that S&P Global Ratings is “one of the world’s most trusted providers of credit ratings, relied upon by the largest banks, asset managers, and governments.”
The Oracle infrastructure has powered the majority of the on-chain economy for over five years. It has also aided in more than $25 trillion in transaction value while actively securing nearly $100 billion in DeFi total value locked.
Chainlink maintains partnerships with major financial institutions, including Swift, Euroclear, J.P. Morgan, Fidelity, UBS, and Mastercard.
The S&P Global collaboration adds another prestigious name to the growing list of institutional adopters.
The GENIUS Act provided clarity for institutional participants who were previously hesitant due to regulatory confusion.
S&P Global has also expanded its DeFi presence since May 2021, when S&P Dow Jones Indices launched its first cryptocurrency index series.
Key milestones include establishing a dedicated DeFi group under Chuck Mounts in May 2022, launching the Stablecoin Stability Assessments framework in December 2023, and assigning the first-ever credit rating for a DeFi protocol (Sky Protocol) in August 2025.
Recent developments include S&P DJI collaborating with Centrifuge to license the S&P 500 Index in July 2025. They also announced plans for the S&P Digital Markets 50 Index, which will combine cryptocurrencies and crypto-linked equities in October 2025.
