Ethereum price held near recent lows as market sentiment collapsed to levels normally seen near major cycle bottoms. Fear accelerated faster than price, while capital quietly returned to exchanges, hinting at a potential shift in momentum.
Ethereum (ETH) traded around $3,186 in recent sessions after falling more than 35% from its Aug. all-time high. Traders now debated whether sentiment exhaustion and rising stablecoin reserves could trigger a rebound.
Fear Collapses Before Prices Recover, Says Analyst
Crypto commentator CryptosRus highlighted the breakdown in investor sentiment, calling attention to a “FEAR (10) IS CRASHING FASTER THAN PRICE” setup. He argued that emotional capitulation often appears in real time as “heavy, hopeless, like something is breaking.”

He added a historical observation: “Fear moves first. Price follows later.”
His view suggested that macro reversals rarely start with optimism.
Market watchers treated the sentiment crash as a chart-driven event, implying that prices could adjust only after traders recognized that conditions had shifted.
$9B in Binance Stablecoins Signals Return of Buying Power
Meanwhile, on-chain analysts tracked renewed stablecoin inflows to Binance. ERC-20 stablecoin reserves increased by $9 billion over the past 30 days.

Researchers said the inflow hit a “historical peak range” seen only during periods preceding major market movements. The data implied traders were “waiting for a catalyst” to deploy capital.
Dry powder of that scale could indicate a bullish imbalance forming beneath the surface. Analysts noted similar inflow behavior during past bull cycles, often before volatility spikes and recovery phases.
Ethereum price stability near long-term support could become sensitive to this capital deployment.
Ethereum Price Nears Long-Term Holder Cost Basis
A CryptoQuant contributor, Burak Kesmeci, pointed out that Ethereum price approached the average cost basis of long-term accumulators. He said ETH was only “around a $200 drop away” from their historical buy-in range.

That range typically shows the conviction level of patient wallets those who did not chase tops or exit during temporary weakness.
On-chain models often identify cost-basis convergence as a decision point for holders. Either supply remains locked or capitulation forces long-term coins back to exchanges.
For now, there is no major rush to sell from wallets labeled as accumulation-heavy.
Supercycle Narrative Persists Despite Drawdowns
Tom Lee, executive chair of BitMine, compared Ethereum’s current structure with Bitcoin’s early adoption cycles. He first recommended Bitcoin near $1,000 in 2017. Despite multiple drawdowns exceeding 75%, Bitcoin eventually increased 100x over several years.

Lee claimed Ethereum could be “embarking on that same Supercycle.” He acknowledged the large drop from recent highs but said volatility only “discounts a massive future.”
He also noted that returning those gains required investors to “stomach existential moments to HODL.”
Ethereum price weakness may reflect similar doubt phases seen in earlier structural expansions.
Technical Setup Shows Bounded Decline Inside Pitchfork Channel
The Ethereum chart displayed a wide descending pitchfork framing current price action. ETH traded in the lower band of the structure, showing downward pressure but not a breakdown.
Price held above $3,000 after sweeping lower support.

Bollinger Bands reflected compression after weeks of expansion, indicating a potential reset in volatility. Traders monitored a retest of the middle band around $3,478 as a directional trigger.
A move through that zone could open the upper pitchfork resistance near $4,000. Failure could return price to the lower band around $2,947.
The Ethereum price remains range-bound but is not trending aggressively downward.
Watching the Catalyst: Fear or Dry Powder?
The narrative heading into late Nov. centered on which factor would break first. Sentiment deterioration continued while capital positioning turned increasingly constructive.
Extreme fear could deter aggressive bids. However, historical comparisons suggest that fear peaks while price builds foundations.
A surge in stablecoin reserves during emotional lows has previously preceded renewed rallies.
Traders weighed whether Ethereum price needed a shift in focus from uncertainty to accumulation.
