Robinhood stock traded near $93 on Aug. 18 after retreating from its June peak. The decline came as long-term U.S. bond yields pressured growth and technology shares.
Attention now turns to a White House meeting involving crypto and prediction-market executives. Robinhood operates across both sectors, making the discussions relevant to its regulatory outlook and future revenue growth.
Robinhood Stock Faces White House Crypto Catalyst
A major catalyst for the Robinhood stock this week will be the upcoming meeting between Donald Trump and top executives in the cryptocurrency and prediction markets industries.
Robinhood is a major player in the two sectors. Its platform offers crypto trading services. At the same time, it acquired Bitstamp, a small crypto exchange with thousands of customers.
The company has also become a top player in the prediction market industry. It offers these solutions through its partnership with Kalshi, the top company in the sector. However, recently, it is mostly focusing on Rothera, a prediction platform it is building in collaboration with Susquehanna.
The meeting will mostly focus on regulations in the two industries as the heads of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) will participate. One of the key issues will be how to align the agencies now that odds that the CLARITY Act will become law have fallen in the past few months.
Robinhood would benefit from the passage of the act as it would simplify how the industry is regulated. The most notable aspect would be to shift the regulatory burden from the SEC to the CFTC.
Additionally, the participants will deliberate on key issues affecting the prediction markets. For example, some states have taken a highly aggressive approach in regulating the sector, with New York launching a lawsuit against Kalshi and Polymarket. The lawsuit argued that these companies were targeting minors in their marketing campaigns.
Robinhood’s Business is Seeing Modest Growth
Robinhood stock has remained in a bear market because of the ongoing crypto winter, which has led to lower transaction volumes. This slowdown has been offset by the ongoing performance of other segments, including predictions, equities, and options.
The recently released earnings showed that its revenue continued to grow in the second quarter. Its revenue jumped by 32% to $1.31 billion, with its transaction figure rising by 44% because of its events contracts business as the World Cup event continued. Also, its net interest income rose by 9% to $389 million.
Yahoo Finance data shows that analysts expect it to have some modest growth in the remainder of the year. The average estimate is that its revenue will come in at $1.35 billion, up by 5.76% from a year earlier. However, its earnings per share (EPS) are expected to drop from 61 cents to 50 cents.
Some of the potential catalysts that may drive its revenues higher are the ongoing volatility in the stock market. Also, the options market is seeing strong growth this year. The company also expects to see more revenue from the Trump Accounts.

The stock has also slowly formed a bearish flag pattern, which typically forms after a steep decline and an ascending channel. This pattern normally leads to further downside over time.
Therefore, the stock is likely to break down, potentially reaching the key support level of $80. This view will move below the lower side of the rising broadening wedge pattern that has been forming for months.
