Ethereum Price Surges Past $3,000: Key Drivers and What’s Next
  • Ethereum surpassed $3,000, up 8.5% intraday and 35% over five days.
  • Trump’s November 5 election win initially sparked Ethereum’s upward movement. This post-election further intensified the bullish trend.
  • Nearly 80% of ETH holders were in profit. Also, Ethereum’s momentum and ecosystem upgrades position it well for growth.

Ethereum (ETH) price, the world’s second-largest cryptocurrency, surged past $3,000 with its largest weekly gains since May. Currently trading at $3,172.7, Ethereum saw an intraday jump of 8.5%. Furthermore, crypto has witnessed a 35% increase in the five days following Trump’s election win.

The Ethereum price has pierced through key EMA levels (20-day, 50-day, and 200-day). That was driven by a steady uptrend from the $2,200 support level since September, with gains of 49%.

This bullish momentum, spurred by a post-election 25 basis point rate cut from the Federal Reserve, suggests a promising outlook for further growth. Many are now watching to see if the ETH price can surpass its March all-time high of $4,095.

Impact of Fed Rate Cut and Trump’s Election Win on Ethereum Price

The Ethereum price has shown strong upward momentum over the past week. This was initially fueled by Donald Trump’s ****November 5 election win. The bullish sentiment intensified on November 7. This happened when Powell announced a fed rate cut of 25 basis points, bolstering the crypto market.

Following comments from Fed Chair Jerome Powell, Bitcoin surged to new highs and in an ATH discovery. Ethereum saw significant gains over the past five days, though it remains below its all-time high.

ETH ETF Seen Massive Inflows With Blackrock’s Major Participation

Ether spot exchange-traded funds (ETFs) have seen a surge in inflows, with significant consecutive daily investments. On November 8, BlackRock’s iShares Ethereum Trust ETF (ETHA) recorded an inflow of nearly $59.77 Million. It was the highest in three months.

Across all U.S. Ethereum Spot ETFs, daily net inflows reached $85.86 Million. That indicated strong demand and positive investor sentiment as buying interest outpaced supply.

The total value traded across these ETFs hit $469.13 Million. This captured the day’s liquidity and trading volume across all U.S. Ethereum spot ETFs. That signaled heightened market activity and interest.

Option Open Interest Indicates More Growth Likely

Per The Block’s options chart data, the pricing of Ether options on Deribit suggested the current ETH rally may persist. Based on expiration dates, the total open interest for monthly ETH options contracts on Deribit stood at $4.12 Billion.

Additionally, a positive call-put skew across various time frames reflected a preference for call options. That indicated the potential for asymmetric upside for buyers.

Ecosystem Factors Adding More Optimism

The major key driver is the U.S.’s shifting regulatory stance. This could encourage broader adoption of blockchain, decentralized finance (DeFi), and other Ethereum-based applications. Internal developments are strengthening Ethereum’s community support.

The recent ETH price rise was significant. This could propel it to new heights, especially with upcoming advancements. Ethereum’s continued transition to proof-of-stake (PoS) aligns with its goal of becoming more energy-efficient.

Upcoming upgrades like “The Surge” aim to enhance scalability. It could also reduce transaction costs and make the platform more attractive for dApps and developers. Despite potential regulatory risks, the recent Ethereum price rally suggested a strong foundation for future growth.
