- Joins Strategy and Metaplanet in corporate BTC accumulation.
- Market eyes U.S. events, Elon’s Bitcoin support lifts sentiment.
Murano Global Investments has launched a major Bitcoin treasury initiative backed by a $500 million equity deal. The real estate firm has already purchased 21 BTC and joined BTC Inc’s “Bitcoin for Corporations” group. This move places Murano among a growing number of companies adopting BTC as a strategic reserve asset.
Murano Begins $500M Bitcoin Strategy
Murano signed a $500 million Standby Equity Purchase Agreement (SEPA) with Yorkville Advisors to fund its Bitcoin treasury. The firm aims to gradually sell shares and use most proceeds to accumulate BTC. With a market cap of $849 million, Murano confirmed its first purchase of 21 Bitcoins.

As it works on its resort and real estate business in Mexico, Murano now aims at releasing capital tied up in assets. The firm is considering sale-leaseback transactions and chosen divestitures. One project includes the Grand Island Cancun development, where asset sales could support further BTC purchases.
Murano also joined the Chairman’s Circle of the “Bitcoin for Corporations” initiative, backed by BTC Inc and Strategy. The decision puts Murano in the same category with other leading companies that seek Bitcoin as a long-term capital preservation strategy. Management feels that Bitcoin will assist in enhancing liquidity and financial strength.
BTC Payments, Rewards May Come to Murano Resorts
Murano is reviewing plans to integrate Bitcoin into its hospitality offerings. This includes accepting BTC as payment at its resorts and introducing Bitcoin reward programs. These initiatives aim to attract crypto-friendly travelers and diversify payment options.
The company sees growing interest from tourists using digital assets and views this as a competitive edge. Although still under review, these ideas reflect Murano’s broader crypto alignment. The firm intends to balance innovation with its core business operations.
This dual approach allows Murano to strengthen its resort business while shifting part of its capital strategy into digital assets. It also positions the brand at the intersection of hospitality and finance. If successful, Murano could set a precedent for Bitcoin adoption in the tourism industry.
Corporate Bitcoin Adoption Expands Globally
Murano joins a rising wave of corporate Bitcoin adopters alongside Strategy and Metaplanet. Metaplanet, Asia’s top public BTC holder, recently added 2,205 BTC, taking its total to 15,555 BTC worth $1.7 billion. The firm continues to grow its position amid broader institutional interest.
In the U.S., Strategy (formerly MicroStrategy) launched a plan to raise $4.2 billion through preferred stock sales. It aims to sell 10% Series A Perpetual Stride Preferred Stock via an at-the-market program. The funds will support more Bitcoin purchases, dividends, and general operations.
Sales under this program will be gradual and based on market conditions. Strategy’s approach reflects disciplined accumulation of BTC while managing treasury and capital needs. Its model has inspired other public firms, including Murano, to consider Bitcoin for long-term asset allocation.
Crypto Market Gains, but U.S. Events Loom
The crypto market started the week on a positive note after a decline during the weekend and the total market cap rose to $3.37 trillion. Bitcoin rose sharply and now trades near its all-time high, leading a broader rally across major altcoins. A boost in sentiment followed Elon Musk’s launch of the “America Party,” which endorses Bitcoin.

Nevertheless, the movement in the market can be changed by the U.S. economic figures released soon. On July 8, the Consumer Credit Report will give an indication of whether the consumers are borrowing or spending prudently. Weak data could be bullish for BTC, while strong numbers may trigger a pullback.
On July 9, the FOMC release of minutes will indicate the Fed’s tone on rate reductions. A hawkish tone might undermine the crypto prices whereas a dovish tone might help support the crypto prices. There is additional weight to this day, as it is also the deadline for Trump to suspend tariffs in 90 days.
The sentiment may also be affected by Initial Jobless Claims data on July 10. Analysts forecast a minimal rise to 235,000 claims, and this may favour the argument of rate reductions. Good investor response might prolong the ongoing rally in the market.
