David Bailey, an advisor to US President Donald Trump, is reportedly buying Bitcoin (BTC) worth $760 million today.
The $760 million worth of Bitcoin leaving the market in a single day marks a shift in market dynamics and could spark a supply shock.
Typically, when high-net-worth individuals buy, market optimism increases and prices follow an upward trajectory.
Is a Bitcoin Supply Shock Imminent?
Based on the upcoming BTC accumulation from Crypto advisor, David Bailey, crypto market players have predicted that a Bitcoin supply shock is approaching. They expect the BTC price to skyrocket once it happens.

At the current market price, $760 million translates to approximately 6,412.8 BTC coins. Such a huge buy is something traders and investors should be aware of.
There is a greater chance of a supply shock if demand increases. This is typically the case when whales routinely withdraw coins from centralized exchanges.
If more whale investors adopt this strategy, Bitcoin could see disproportionate price movements on comparatively small volumes.
In the past, extended rallies often preceded significant net outflows of Bitcoin from exchanges, especially Binance, the biggest crypto trading platform.
Notably, BTC accumulation among large investors during low volatility periods often reflects long-term conviction.
However, the bullish action from the Trump advisor is not unique. Strategy Chairman and CEO Michael Saylor announced on Monday, August 11, 2025, that the firm has added more BTC to its balance sheet.
In an X post, Saylor revealed that Strategy bought an additional 155 BTC for approximately $18 million.
Year-to-date, Strategy has achieved a BTC Yield of 25%. Additionally, the firm now holds 628,946 BTC in its reserve, acquired at about $73,288 per BTC.
Bitcoin Price Activity
Bitcoin price moved closer to hitting a new all-time high (ATH) on Monday, August 11, 2025. The price rallied as high as $122,155, but soon faced volatility, dropping back to $121,788.
Monday’s move higher triggered a big wave of short liquidations. CoinGlass heatmaps revealed dense short positions stacked just above $124,000.
The heaviest zone is positioned at $125,000, aligned with the 0.5 Fibonacci extension on the daily chart.
At the time of writing, BTC price was trading at $118,704, down slightly by 0.9% over the previous day. This decline suggests profit-taking among short-term investors.
On the weekly charts, BTC price remains bullish, increasing by 4.6%. However, investor interest appears to have dwindled, as the declining trading volume indicates.
Over the past 24 hours, the trading volume decreased by 16.8% to $69 billion.
Bitcoin ETF Inflows Remain Strong
Despite the BTC price volatility, the BTC exchange-traded fund (ETF) market has continued to see consistent inflows. The rising inflows into the spot ETFs indicate confidence among institutional investors.
According to data from Farside Investors, the spot BTC ETFs have recorded 4 consecutive days of inflows.
On August 6, the ETFs saw inflows reaching $91.6 million, which increased to $227.4 million the following day.

On August 8 and 11, the ETFs experienced inflows that amounted to $403.9 million and $178.1 million, respectively.
Unsurprisingly, BlackRock’s IBIT recorded the highest inflows on Monday, August 11, which stood at $138.2 million.
Grayscale’s BTC fund came second with inflows of $14.2 million. Next on the list was Fidelity’s FBTC, followed by Bitwise.
Notably, spot ETFs have recently recorded new milestones. On July 12, 2025, the aggregated market capitalization of the spot Bitcoin ETFs exceeded $150 billion.
This is a record-breaking volume, the highest levels since the ETF’s launch in January 2024. The surge in demand pushed the total volume of assets under management to over $153.1 billion.
