- Circle USDC faces competition from USDT and RLUSD
Circle (CRCL) stock is back in green on the daily charts. This rally in CRCL stocks follows an announcement that Circle stablecoin, USDC, and CCTP V2 are joining the XDC Network.
Meanwhile, USDC still faces competition from both Tether’s USDT and Ripple USD (RLUSD) stablecoin.
Circle Taps Partnership with XDC Foundation
USDC stablecoin provider Circle announced today that it has formed a strategic partnership with XDC Foundation.
The integration brings native USDC to XDC Network, powered by Circle’s upgraded Cross-Chain Transfer Protocol (CCTP V2).
As a result, XDC Network will gain access to the world’s largest regulated stablecoin and cross-chain liquidity.
This collaboration aims to bridge traditional finance (TradFi) and DeFi. It will enable seamless and efficient stablecoin transfers without the need for traditional intermediaries.

The XDC Network, which launched its mainnet in 2019, is a Layer-1 blockchain optimized for global trade finance. It is designed for real-world asset (RWA) tokenization and enterprise payments.
The infrastructure of XDC for USDC-based trade settlements is built on the fundamental principles of efficiency and security.
This integration unlocks several advantages for the XDC Network, particularly based on its focus on trade finance and RWAs.
With native USDC support on XDC, users can now leverage the stablecoin for low-cost, high-speed transactions.
Additionally, eligible businesses can mint and redeem USDC directly with Circle for fiat integration. The integration will also support USDC transfers between XDC and supported blockchains.
Summarily, the integration positions XDC as a hub for real-world adoption, where USDC can facilitate global trade finance, RWA tokenization, and enterprise payments.
The timing aligns with favorable regulatory frameworks, like the US GENIUS Act. This legislation promotes stablecoin frameworks, further legitimizing the role of USDC in bridging TradFi and blockchain.
Circle Stock Rebound
The news of the USDC and XDC Network integration quickly ignited a rebound in the Circle stock.
According to Google Finance data, CRCL is currently priced at $126.54 per share, demonstrating a 1.04% increase over the past 24 hours.

The daily price range for CRCL is between $124.16 and $127.66. Year-to-date (YTD), CRCL has increased by 50.9%.
While the daily increase in CRCL is quite minimal, it marks an improvement from recent plummeting prices. The Circle stock has faced intense volatility of late.
The stock fell about 8.4% over the last five trading days to roughly $123 per share. On the monthly chart, CRCL is down 32.3%
Top Circle competitors – USDT and RLUSD
Circle’s USDC remains the second-largest stablecoin by market capitalization, which is currently at $68.3 billion.
The USDC growth is attributed to its focus on regulatory compliance, transparency, and institutional adoption. Circle has also formed key partnerships, including integrating USDC into Hyperliquid, which have helped to increase adoption for the stablecoin.
Despite the growth in USDC, it faces stiff competition from USDT and emerging challengers like RLUSD, which launched in December 2024.
USDT remains the world’s largest stablecoin, with a market cap exceeding $167 billion. USDT is dominating in emerging markets for remittances and hedging against local currency volatility. Blockchains like TRON utilize the USDT stablecoin to settle payments.
Likewise, RLUSD is Ripple’s entry into stablecoins, which emphasizes enterprise payments and compliance. The RLUSD, built natively on the XRP Ledger and Ethereum, has seen its market cap grow to $687.8 million.
RLUSD is integrated into Ripple Payments for instant cross-border settlements. It also complements XRP for liquidity in remittances and tokenized RWAs.
The stablecoin also continued to expand globally, partnering with exchanges like Uphold, Bitso, and MoonPay. Ripple has even placed BNY Mellon as the main custodian of RLUSD stablecoin reserves.
