Key Insights:
- Shibarium crypto is eyeing the 1.6 billion total transaction volume milestone
- Shibarium has seen increased adoption since launching in December 2023
- SHIB price regains momentum and looks ready for a breakout
Shibarium, the layer-2 blockchain of the Shiba Inu (SHIB) network, appears set to record a major milestone.
The blockchain has topped over 1.5 billion in the total number of transactions and is currently eyeing the 1.6 billion milestone.
Shibarium Crypto Transaction Count and Network Metrics
According to data from Shibariumscan, the total transaction count on Shibarium is now pegged at 1,566,357,792. On September 4, 2025, Shibarium recorded a daily transaction count of 20,019.
Besides transaction volume, other key metrics that point to increased adoption include total blocks and address counts.
Shibarium now has a total of 12,917,339 blocks while maintaining an average block time of 5.0 seconds. The Block count will soon top 13 million in no time.
The surge in transaction count indicates the uptick in user engagement on Shibarium. Notably, the daily transaction figures on Shibarium have consistently stayed above three million since July, before recently dropping to the current level.
This consistency contributed to it attaining the 1.5 billion milestone within a short period. The rising Shibarium transaction count also suggests that users are engaging the layer-2 protocol organically.
Moreover, it signals huge adoption by users in the crypto space, particularly the Shiba Inu community.
Meanwhile, the total address is pegged at 272,050,843, contributing to the spike in transaction volume.

Intriguingly, the possible transaction count milestone is coming a few weeks after Shibarium’s total value locked (TVL) crashed to $2.2 million. This represents about a 70% decline from the all-time high of $7.37 million in December last year.
Shibarium Crypto Ecosystem Overview
Shibarium, launched in December 2023, is designed to offer faster transactions and lower fees than the Ethereum mainnet.
Shibarium operates as a Layer-2 solution on top of Ethereum. Users can transfer assets like Ethereum or other ERC-20 tokens from the mainnet to Shibarium.
The blockchain uses BONE as its primary token for gas fees and ecosystem interactions. In the past 24 hours, transaction fees were as low as .00003166 BONE.
Shibarium uses a Proof-of-Stake (PoS) consensus mechanism. As such, validators secure the network by processing transactions and maintaining the blockchain.
Users can delegate their ETH or BONE tokens to validators. Consequently, they contribute to network security and earn rewards in BONE.

Delegation involves choosing a reliable validator, which can be researched using tools like Shibariumscan.
Shibarium supports a wide range of decentralized finance (DeFi) and blockchain activities, ranging from swapping, staking, farming, to games.
Trickles to the SHIB Price
Histoically, higher adoption of Shibarium increases demand for SHIB. This happens as users utilize the token for ecosystem transactions, staking, and governance.
Currently, experts suggest that increased network usage correlates with upward price pressure.
According to CoinMarketCap data, the value of SHIB has increased by 1.8% to $0.00001243 over the previous day. SHIB also surged 1.4% and 2.5% over the past week and month.
The daily trading volume has increased by 19.7% to $179.7 million, implying an increase in market activity. Typically, increase in trading volumes implies a renewed interest among investors.
Analysts previously predicted a 12 times rally for SHIB, driven by increased trader interest and technical breakouts. Renewed ecosystem momentum further supports the bullish patterns.
Meanwhile, the Shiba Inu burn rate recently skyrocketed 200,000% in just 24 hours, sparking hopes of a supply shock. SHIB investors and traders hope the burn rate surge may ignite a price breakout.
Shibarium needs broader adoption, consistent burns, and favorable market conditions for sustained growth.
