A whale investor recently deposited 100,000 Solana crypto into the OKX crypto exchange. This transaction has raised concerns among traders and investors about a potential sell-off.
However, the price of SOL has not reacted negatively to the recent whale move. With the number of tokens, Solana has also proved to be a leading crypto-project hub.
Solana Crypto Transfer and Implications
Onchain data provider Lookonchain spotlighted the latest SOL whale transfer. According to the platform, a Solana whale identified by its wallet address, 2nWbwF, received 100,000 SOL from Coinbase Prime.
About two hours later, the whale investor deposited the 100,000 SOL, valued at approximately 23.64 million, into OKX.
Note that deposits to exchanges are often interpreted as a bearish signal. Typically, whales move funds into exchanges to sell for fiat or other assets, which could flood the market with supply.

For Solana crypto, this could push the price down temporarily. Traders watch these inflows closely because they can trigger volatility if others panic-sell in anticipation.
However, not every deposit leads to a sell-off because some whales hold or buy more on exchanges. Moreover, the whale is shuffling assets for liquidity or diversification. So far this year, Solana has seen a wave of whale activity, including large liquidations and deposits to exchanges.
Solana wallets with 10,000 or more SOL rose from 4,943 to 5,019 in late August. That’s a weekly increase of 76 large holders. This represented a 1.53% growth in large holder wallets.
Total Solana Token Dominance
Solana celebrated a significant milestone in the blockchain ecosystem amid the massive whale transfer. The blockchain shared an update on platform X. It said 100 million tokens now exist across major crypto networks.
Notably, Solana crypto accounts for 85 million of that number. This means it is the hub for approximately 85% of new token launches in the recent period.

The 100 million total reflects maturation, meaning tokens’ power in real-world uses like payments. Accordingly, an 85% share for SOL screams dominance in token creation. It would likely attract developers, liquidity, and users, potentially boosting the price of SOL.
This milestone could also spark more launches, increase network effects, and draw capital from rivals. Tokens drive Decentralized Applications (dApps), decentralized Finance (DeFi), and memecoins.
If the SOL ecosystem keeps growing at this pace, the blockchain could solidify as the innovation engine of crypto.
Solana Crypto Price Projection
Meanwhile, SOL’s price has remained relatively steady amid the recent ecosystem buzz. At press time, SOL price was trading at $236, up slightly by 0.5% over the past 24 hours.
With username @CryptoCurb on X, a Solana enthusiast has forecasted a bullish price for SOL. The enthusiast explained that Solana crypto is in its early stages of SOL Season 2.0.
Consequently, CryptoCurb expects a huge breakout from the current price levels.

He pointed out the SOL Season 1.0, where the digital asset traded between $20 and $200. Season 1.0 marked Solana’s first mainstream adoption wave, outpacing Ethereum in fees and speed.
If history holds, CryptoCurb claims SOL could rally as high as $2,000 in Season 2.0. This would imply almost a 10 times rally from the current price.
Unlike the retail-driven 1.0, Season 2.0 would likely be fueled by potential Solana ETF approvals and TradFi integrations.
In a more realistic prediction, market analyst Lark Davis expects new highs above $294 for SOL. This forecast is, however, hinged on SOL breaking and sustaining above the $250 resistance.
