Strategy Bitcoin holdings reached a record 848,250 BTC after another acquisition between Oct. 5 and Oct. 11. The company purchased 250 Bitcoin for approximately $21.5 million, according to its Oct. 12 disclosure.
The Michael Saylor-led company also repurchased $192.4 million of its STRC preferred shares. However, Strategy’s common stock declined despite the latest Bitcoin acquisition and capital-management activity.
MSTR closed at $152.68 on Monday, Oct. 12, down 1.08% during the session. Meanwhile, STRC gained 0.23% to $99.88, approaching its $100 reference price.
Strategy Bitcoin Holdings Reach New High
The disclosure means Strategy now holds 848,250 BTC worth almost $70 billion. The firm spent $64 billion to acquire Bitcoin at an average price of $75,444.
This is the highest amount of BTC held by the firm, accounting for 4% of Bitcoin’s total supply. It marks a turnaround for Strategy, which, a few months ago, was selling Bitcoin amid significant pressure from Bitcoin’s struggles.
Following the latest purchase, Strategy chairman Michael Saylor posted on the company’s Bitcoin chart on X, adding “there’s always room for more orange.”
MSTR Stock Struggling as STRC Gets Close to Peg
Meanwhile, MSTR stock is down 1% today, closing at $152.68 after opening around $154. Today’s decline continues last week’s struggles, with the stock down more than 7% over that period.
Despite the decline, Strategy’s mid-term performance has been mostly positive. It is up more than 16% in the past month and 18.69% in the last six months. It even has positive year-to-date performance, making it a better performer than Bitcoin.
This makes its recent decline most likely a reflection of broader market performance, with Nasdaq and the S&P 500 both declining today amid rising oil prices.

The crypto market also declined today, with Bitcoin falling from $84,000 to $82,000. Concerns about whether the Fed will increase interest rates remain.
Beyond MSTR, STRC has recovered as well. The preferred stock, which is meant to trade at $100, fell as low as $74 in June amid the company’s struggles.
It is now trading at $99.88, which is very close to its peg, even though it has not yet reached it. The firm reported $21 billion in digital asset gains for the third quarter of 2026.
