Key Insights:
- Ethereum price trades near $1,850 after reclaiming a key short-term support zone.
- The $1,820–$1,850 area now decides whether ETH can extend its rebound.
- Analysts point to $1,950, $2,000 and $2,200–$2,400 as upside zones.
Ethereum price is holding near a major support zone after its latest recovery attempt, with traders watching whether ETH can turn the $1,820–$1,850 area into a stronger base.
The rebound has brought bullish calls back into focus, but whale exchange deposits and profit-taking risk show that ETH crypto still needs stronger confirmation before a clean run above $2,000.
Ethereum Price Holds Its Key Support Zone
Ethereum price is trading near $1,850 after recovering from the lower support region around $1,550–$1,600 earlier this month. The latest chart from Ted showed ETH crypto holding above the red resistance-turned-support zone between $1,820 and $1,850.

That range is now the main short-term battleground. If ETH stays above it, the chart points toward another attempt at $1,950 and then $2,000. A weaker reaction, however, could send price back toward the $1,700 support area.
Ted also linked the zone to broader market caution amid ongoing geopolitical tensions. In this setup, Ethereum needs a steady close above support, not just an intraday bounce. Holding the area would show buyers can defend the recent breakout.
ETH Crypto Bulls Watch $2,400 Target
Meanwhile, Michaël van de Poppe said ETH price is running a new upward trend and flipping old resistance levels into support. His chart shows lower-timeframe support near $1,780, which is now an important level for momentum.

According to his view, the Ethereum price is more likely to trade above $2,000 if the current structure holds. He placed the next broader target area between $2,200 and $2,400, where ETH previously saw heavy price action.
That outlook matches the improving structure on the daily chart. ETH crypto has broken above short-term moving averages and recovered from its June low. Still, a daily close above $1,950 would give the market stronger confirmation that buyers are in control.
ETH/BTC Strength Adds to the Setup
Interestingly, Tanaka pointed to Ethereum’s relative strength against Bitcoin and Solana after ETH bounced strongly from its lows. His ETH/BTC chart shows the pair reclaiming a former support zone near 0.028 and pushing toward 0.029.

That move matters for market rotation. When ETH gains against BTC, traders often view it as an early sign of stronger altcoin risk appetite. A sustained ETH/BTC breakout would support the case for Ethereum leading the next phase of the market recovery.
Tanaka also argued that Ethereum’s longer-term case is improving through institutional settlement demand, regulated staking yield, and lower liquid supply. He pointed to roughly one-third of ETH supply being staked, along with multi-year lows in exchange balances.
Additionally, he highlighted protocol changes and Ethereum Foundation cost cuts as part of the wider reset. In his view, ETH crypto needs an ETH/BTC breakout and a monthly reclaim above $2,000 to confirm a larger trend shift.
ETH Whale Data Keeps Selling Risk Alive
However, CryptoPatel warned that Ethereum whales are not fully capitulating, even as whale profits shrink. His chart shows most large holders remain in profit, while ETH deposits to Binance remain elevated.

That means selling pressure cannot be ignored. Large exchange deposits can signal that whales have a supply ready to sell if price reaches stronger resistance. At the same time, whales also hold large USDT and USDC reserves, giving them capital to buy if momentum improves.
The next move now depends on where that capital flows. If whales use stablecoin reserves to accumulate, ETH crypto could push back toward $1,950 and $2,000. If exchange deposits turn into selling, Ethereum may revisit $1,780 or even the $1,700 support zone.
For now, ETH crypto remains in recovery mode, but the setup is not risk-free. A hold above $1,820–$1,850 keeps the bullish path open, while a close below $1,780 would weaken the short-term structure.
